Family business with good effort to keep customers happy

Spacious room, clean, very accommodating to requests and needs. Breakfast options were wonderful to have. Nice touch to have a “to go” breakfast picnic bagged and ready for us early on our departure day too. Our main contact there, Mrs Chan, is terrific. We would definitely recommend.

The place was very convenient as it was close to public transport and within walking distance to old town. The room was comfortable, breakfast was very good and staff very friendly.

My husband had an accident unrelated to the hotel. The hosts at this guest house went over and above to help us out. In addition, the room was comfortable and breakfast was great. We enjoyed our stay.

The location, quality of facilities and helpfulness of the host combined to make two stays at Grosvenor Gardens Hotel thoroughly enjoyable and comfortable. Close proximity to the Haymarket train and tram stations was a boon for connections to the city of Edinburgh, Scotland and UK, and indeed the airport for international flights. Yet, the Hotel is in an extremely quiet and scenic neighbourhood. The two different rooms we stayed in during separate stays were elegant and enjoyed lovely views. Breakfasts were another highlight, offering a broad range of options, all of high quality and in a beautiful room. Host Mrs Chan could not have been more helpful with information about transport and other matters in both a friendly and professional manner.

A quaint old hotel, more like a Bed & Breakfast facility. No front desk, you simply ring the doorbell and the owner/lady comes and lets you in, and registers you. Many pubs a restaurants nearby. One block up from the Haymarket train station.

The owners were lovely and were very polite. Made sure we had everything we needed and provided a lovely service. However, the day after we arrived we came back from being out and someone had came into our room without permission and cleaned (I understand it’s nice to clean the room, but we were told that the room would only be cleaned upon request and we had only been there a day at the time). We felt a bit weird about this as we didn’t have any notice or request for them to enter the room whilst we weren’t at the property. They also changed the price and notified us about 3-4 months after the deposit was paid- they did deduct a small fee for the error but just be aware of the pricing beforehand and speak to the owners about pricing if you have any issues. Other than that I would recommended- perfect B&B for travellers.

I won’t book through hotel.com in the future because there was an email waiting for me but as wasn’t informed of this so I didn’t check prior to my trip. When I arrived at the hotel I was told there was an extra £100 (on top of the balance I thought, this was explained in that email). I believe every time there is a message waiting you should have an email to advise the customer. On a positive note, the breakfast was delicious and hotel is in a good location for Princes Street and Murryfield Stadium

The property is 2 minutes away from Haymarket station, 15 minute walk to Murrayfield same the other way to Edinburgh castle 15 minute walk but its off the main road from the station so you hear nothing. Would definitely stay here again for a long weekend
