The location The views are magnificent The spa facilities were also very good

The restaurant wasn’t open and it was basically bar food as it was out of season.

Bathrooms is not clean, it is red in color and has a sewage smell which affects the safety of the resident. It is not appropriate for a 5 star hotel not to install water filters and not pay attention to these important matters, which affects the hotel's reputation. The hotel should inform the guest about such matters before his arrival. The strangest thing is that when you ask about the reason, you do not get an answer, and if you want to cancel the reservation, they do not refund your money back. Such hotels should be removed from booking.com list.

Location is perfect for visit purpose being the Knysna marathon. Breakfast was superb as per usual....staying here for the 4th time. The rooms are spacious and clean.

There was a serious water problem and this was not communicated on arrival. The water was dirty/ rust/ brown from all the taps including from the kitchen tap. After our race we wanted to bath and could not as the water had gotten even worse. We showered as we had no alternative. On enquiring at reception, the gentleman there dismissed me, saying there is nothing that can be done...he went to the extent of saying " you probably should not drink the water...there is a burst water pipe the whole estate is experiencing the same issue... very dismissive, no accountability for the lack of communication in this regard. Later we wanted to check if we can get more bottled water as we were also using the bottled water to make tea and brush our teeth and the response was that, we will be charged for the extra bottle/s. On Sunday our room was not cleaned until 13h00, on enquiring when we got back to the room, I was asked if I had a left a note...not a normal thing to do as long as there is no "do not disturb" sign. The lady then proceeded to make me look silly by asking " what exactly would you like us to do?" honestly I did not know how to respond... the cleaning lady was using the same dirty water to wash the cups/dishes, unsightly to watch... All in all, this is the last time that I have stayed there even with all the other things that I have appreciated over time.
