City Centre Motel

The location of the property, a walking distance to the city centre.

Very clean with all the facilities we needed for our short stay. Bed was comfortable and the rooms on was not cramped at all. We have stayed in a few hotels in NZ recently, and all had microwaves, but this one was the only one that provided a bowl to use in the microwave! A small thing, but important! There was also a private little outdoor table, which was nice.

The shower was very difficult to turn on, and once it’s on, you get blasted with hard cold water before you can push the lever to warm or hot.

Good location. I walked into the city centre so it was close to the shops. Although on a main road into the City, the property was set back far enough from the road to not be affected by noise of traffic. The bed was comfortable.

The bathroom was terrible. It was a bathroom designed for people with mobility issues. Water from the shower pooled on the floor and didn’t drain away because the water didn’t have a natural run into the drain. So this made over 50% of the bathroom floor wet. (Swimming in water). The unit smelt musty from the bathroom which desperately needed a good spring clean. Spots of mould dotted around the vanity and other parts of the bathroom added to the overall unkempt and unpleasant experiences.

It is a little bit dated

Room was spacious with ample light and air flow. Kitchenette provided basics. Bed was comfortable but extremely low. Property is quiet, on the edge of the city.

Bathroom was accessible but had no chair or fixed seat. Grouting at base of shower was moldy. Housekeeping haphazzard and had to request room make up
