"The properties website is completely misleading about “private“ pool and footsteps to the beach. There is a 10 foot wide"

6.0

The room was decent, but things like the towels and bedding were outdated

The management consisted of a 15-year-old boy who was unable to help us, unlock the safe to store our valuables. He made several phone calls as well as trips to our room, which cost us almost 3 hours of sitting in our room until he finally figured out how to unlock from the previous occupants code so that we could store our valuables and leave for the beach.

We stayed 3 nights and the pkace was perfect. It was very close to the beach, had a very nice shared pool, and the staff was welcoming. We got to the property after the front desk was closed, but called and listened for the after hours number. The agent at that number explained how to check in (number pad on the door). They lent us 2 beach chairs and an umbrella for our whole stay, and they helped us with extra parking for our friends who visited for a day. The Capri is very well appointed with toaster, microwave, stove/oven, and roomy fridge. The bed was comfy. The location is steps from the free trolley that takes you to tge village or all the way into Sarasota for shopping etc. There are also Lennyz Pizza and Captain Curts right across the main street. We watched the OSU game there as it is a backer bar. So fun! Great trip. Highly recommend the Capri. The beach is closer here than Siesta Key main. Great sunsets!

Low key, convenient, resort feel to the hotel and surrounding properties. Pool, location to beach and walkability were definite highlights of our stay. Queen palm 109 is great to for 2 people, bathroom is on the small side. A fairly well kept facility. Really nice stay as we enjoyed our time at the Capri. Thank you

"While the living space is nicely appointed, we were disappointed with the beach part of our stay which was the sole purp"

7.0

The kitchen was outfitted wonderfully. Having both an oven AND a dishwasher was unexpected and a pleasant surprise. The items need for dishwashing were a plus. Having a private pool with lounge chairs that several properties shared was great and it was nicely appointed.

The couch was rather uncomfortable. It was easier to hang out in the bed while my SO or I had idle time inside. I think it might have been a modular pull out couch so that might explain it. There are plenty of spaces to sit, so this is just a very minute detail in the scheme of things. However, we had an issue with our sheets (they felt sandy and were pretty uncomfortable to sleep in; whether they were sandy from sand on the coverlet/quilt dropping on them from a previous occupant or whether they were washed with sandy towels—which is probably the case) and because we arrived late on a Friday evening there was no one to rectify the situation. I let the office attendant know the next day and asked for them to change the sheets that afternoon while we went to the beach. He mentioned something about extra sheets being in our closet (I believe those wouldn’t have fit as they should have been for the pull out bed) but because we were on our way out and housekeeping was going to be there, as well as I didn’t feel like they should have been sandy in the first place, I asked that he please have our sheets changed while we were gone. The sheets were never changed and we slept (unsoundly) a second night in an uncomfortable bed. The last disconcerting issue was upon arriving at the dedicated guest beach space (about 1/5 a mile walk from The Capri) we were told by a private company that there were two spots we could use without paying $40 or $70 (the fee included 2 lounge chairs/1 umbrella—the fee went up depending on your spot) in their private area. The two areas not controlled by the private company were as follows: (1) An incredibly small patch of beach (approximately 15’ wide) next to a dilapidated boardwalk that looks like it needs construction and has enough room to set up two chairs and a wagon with space for someone to walk past. The depth was long but after four rows of people and umbrellas you can’t see the beach anymore.
