This hotel is an absolute slice of luxury in Koh Lanta, our only regret is not extending our stay. We stayed for 4 nights, and every single day was an absolute delight. We got the ferry from Ao Nang to Koh Lanta, and then a Tuktuk from the port to the hotel (be aware Grab doesn’t work on the island, therefore you’re at the mercy of taxis and tuktuks, and they charge a high price). We arrived at the hotel at around 1pm, and were greeted by staff. We sat in The Pantry in the air conditioning and were offered a welcome juice and cold towel - absolutely lovely touches. We were checked in seamlessly, and then given a map of the resort. Our room was also upgraded to a swim up room, which we were thrilled about. We were informed that our room would not be ready until 2pm but we were able to use the pool. We left our luggage at reception and took a buggy to the main pool. The pool area is gorgeous, super clean with plenty of sunbeds - during our entire stay there were sunbeds available at all times of the day. We were texted whilst we were relaxing by the pool to tell us our room was ready, we headed back, picked up the keys and were shown to our room. Oh my word, it was gorgeous. The rooms are spotlessly clean, really spacious and the bathroom was huge. The terrace is a super good size too. The swim up pool is gorgeous addition, surrounded by trees and greenery. The step into the pool is quite large - we had to sit on the edge and lower ourselves in and then hoist ourselves up to get out. We used the restaurant twice - one night for their à la carte which was fine, and the second night for their special songkran buffet. Every single member of staff is so lovely, super polite, can’t do enough for you. The whole resort if beautiful - so clean. We are already planning our return visit! Die Lage ist fantastisch wenn man Ruhe genießt und die Natur schätzt. Das Hotel besticht durch seine Architektur und die Gestaltung der Aussenanlagen. Die sehr freundliche Rezeption hat uns beim Check-in ein Upgrade gegeben, so dass wir eine Pool Villa genießen konnten. Da das ganze Hotel vor ca 1,5 Jahren renoviert wurde, war die Ausstattung der Zimmer perfekt.

Leider läßt der ganze F&B Bereich sehr zu wünschen übrig. Die Zubereitung der Speisen ist mangelhaft und das Personal zwar sehr bemüht, aber oft hilflos. Insgesamt hat man den Eindruck es fehlt ein guter F&B Manager der etwas von Gastronomie, Atmosphäre, events und Service versteht.

Avani Koh Lanta made our stay even more fascinating - the beautiful private beach, the comfortable room, the excellent spa (special thanks to Lee and Moo), and the professionally organized trips by Wisinee.
