Dolgun Uchaf Guesthouse

-Dirty tissue behind bed on arrival -Only 2 toilet paper rolls provided for a 3 day stay, they were not topped up (we had to use our own by day 3) -Pictures made it look like you were getting a whole apartment with an upstairs. It was just the downstairs and you had people above you with a very noisy and creaky ceiling.

Lovely cottage. Good location. Easy to check in. Very clean. Warm.

Bed was very hard and pillows very thick and hard. This may suit some people fine but I struggled to sleep well. Also the heating was quite extreme upstairs as there are no easy way of opening windows in the rain. The thermostat could do with a line on it that properly represents the temperature.

I had a very disappointing experience with Dolgun Uchaf Historic B&B and Cottages in Snowdonia. Due to Storm Amy and the dangerous travel conditions, I contacted them just a couple of hours after the cancellation deadline to ask if I could change my booking. Instead of showing any understanding or flexibility in these exceptional circumstances, they flatly refused. The customer service was unhelpful and unsympathetic. They offered no alternatives, no refund, and not even the option to move the booking to a later date. It was clear they had no interest in supporting their guests or acknowledging the very real impact of the severe weather across the UK. This rigid and uncaring approach left me extremely frustrated. I will not book with them again and would not recommend them to anyone looking for accommodation that values its guests or shows even basic flexibility.

The Room was comfortable and it was a great country location.

Breakfast was very basic if you have the continental one that is offered onsite. Not sure what the cooked option was like in town as we left early the following morning.

It was perfect for my nights stay. It was self check-in/out which was great as I arrived late and left early. The room was clean and super cosy. I arrived with the heating was on which was really appreciated. The shower was hot and powerful. It was everything I needed. I would definitely return here.

Well equipped , quality towels ,bedding and shampoo. Lots of lovely details , a fan in the wardrobe , rechargable torch to use and well stocked tea and coffee .

The walk into Dolgellau is only a 20 minutes walk but no pavements on a busy road . A taxi back is 8.00 pound .
