Monarch Valley Inn Marina at Monterey Bay

I believe this hotel is just starting to have opened up. I say that because their signage wasn’t even put up yet by their office which is oddly, inside the gas station mini store. Parking is pretty decent, but it fills up quickly then you have to park close to the air & water hose filling station. This was our first stay, so our room, was not particularly clean and seemed very ‘used.’ There is paint peeling in the bathroom by the grab handle, missing towel rack behind the door, in the bedroom, close to the bathroom door a painting that had a little bug critter stuck inside resembling a cockroach! The bathroom was clean though, but we realized they’re narrow. Headboards behind the bed are very worn and were dirty (dust accumulation). Beds are comfortable and clean though which was a plus. Service wise: they do not come in to replenish your bath stock but they will if you ask them. Our room phone sounded so raspy calling the office it needs to be thrown away and replaced in my opinion. Overall, the room served a good purpose, but like I said in the beginning,it seems like they might’ve just opened up and need a few things resolved for it to get where it needs.

The check in process was super easy, and the guy who checked us in was super informative and so nice. The room was cute and clean and was stocked well. There was not a lot of noise which I was a bit nervous about being in the same parking lot as a gas station but after 9 it was pretty quiet. My only one complaint was the cleaning room was next to us and the cleaning staff starts playing music at 8:15am. I’m an early riser so it didn’t bother me but for people who sleep in, it could be really annoying especially because the walls are thin and you can really hear the music. Otherwise it’s a great hotel, clean, and the staff is nice

The hotel room was very good. There was a very pleasant floral smell in the room. We liked the laminate floors instead of carpeting. The bathtub/shower appeared older. Breakfast was a banana, yogurt, oranges, cookie and chewy granola bar. We were on the first floor & Unfortunately, on the last night, the noise from upstairs was horrible with people walking back. & forth & loud bangs from their room like something was falling every now & then. It was so hard to sleep. The room had very light colors & was pleasant. We wish we got the young guys name who checked us in. He was wonderful! He was a night worker. Overall, I would recommend this hotel.

A great place to stay clean, safe and easy parking. Gas and convenient store close. Very accommodating. We will stay again.

Fine for a night. A room - nothing fancy but clean and functional

Very basic motel providing basic amenities for a night's stay. The room was spacious, although a refurbishment would be nice. The "To Go" breakfast bag provided was rather a disappointment. We ended up paying a very high price for this hotel due to some local event going on at that time. Hence, the hotel was utterly not value-for-money for us.

Second time I stay here and I just love it.
