"Excellent"

Signs are not up yet---have to find it behind the Gulf station. Breakfast isn't---you get a lunch sack with a yogurt and a granola bar. Coffee for guests is in one thermal pot---better coffee is available for purchase. Location is excellent.

We were treated poorly. The property is sometimes called Monarch Valley Inn and sometimes called Howard Johnson inn. Signs were on the ground, leaning against the wall, not even put up to help you see them.

They are in the middle of a renovation. I would consider staying here again after they finish. Breakfast was simple but included with stay. WiFi was slow but stable.

It was a convenient location. They were renovating the property so finding someone to assist you was difficult but when you did they were helpful. We asked for a roll a way and it was rusted and mattress was not at all comfortable. They did not charge us for it so we appreciated that. They only cleaned our room one day during our several day stay. It was clean when we arrived but we just needed our trash taken out so we did it ourselves. We did feel safe while there.

"Friendly Staff and Convenient Location"

The front desk was a bit difficult to find and located in an unusual spot, but the young man at reception was very friendly and helpful. We stayed for two nights, though housekeeping did not service our room during that time. The location is convenient, only about 15 minutes from Monterey, which helps explain the higher rate, though the room itself felt a bit underwhelming for the price. Overall, it was a good experience.
