The Brooke Hotel is run down and creepy. The room is a furnace when you first walk in, a number of the lights didn't work, the furniture was beaten up, the sheets were itchy, and my non-smoking room smelled like smoke. The Motel 6 chain is comparable in price, and is a MUCH better experience. I will be needing hotels in the area soon, and I will plan never to go to this one again.
Tv didn't work. Toilet not cleaned. Disgusting.

the sheets were not clean. there was a gripy women at front desk
woke up in the middle of the first night covered with bed bugs. I killed as many as I could and packed my things and left immediately. asst manager unsympathetic and unhelpful. manager did refund my stay the following day and apologized. I attached photos of 1 of the bed bugs and some of the many bloody spots on the sheets from the attack.
Terrible!!!! Was hoping the old reviews were just old reviews. The actual condition of the "hotel" was much worse. In fairness the place is being renovated, but the advertised hair dryer did not exist. The pool had a foot of green water. The breakfast consisted of some bagels, English muffins, juice, and coffee. To say the place needed a lot of work is a huge underststement. We even had to assemble the smoke detector. We had planned to stay two nights but we just could not do it.
Checking in Maria was very courteous. Went our room walked in and it smelled. The bathroom was even worse. Basically walked in and out.
No phone in room and smoke detectors disconnected.
