Riad Zara

Unfortunately, our experience at Riad Zara was far below expectations, especially considering the very high price we paid. The first issue is that the hotel is significantly more expensive than many similar or even better accommodations in the area, while offering very limited services and facilities. On the first day, Mr. Fouad handed us the main entrance key and then left the property. There was no staff member available at the hotel besides the guests, and no one was there to assist if needed. Even our room did not have a proper lock and key, which felt very unsafe and unprofessional. The room itself was not up to standard. There was no TV, no complimentary water, and overall the facilities were extremely basic and disappointing. The area surrounding the hotel also felt dirty and unsafe, which made the stay even less comfortable. Breakfast was extremely poor and very limited — there was not even cheese available. Additionally, when we tried to request something, communication was difficult because the staff member serving breakfast unfortunately could not speak English. I also asked Mr. Fouad about local tours, and the prices offered were nearly double compared to what we found outside the hotel. From the beginning, we wanted to leave the hotel due to these issues, but the situation was not handled professionally. Paying €250 for only one night in such conditions, with almost no proper facilities, felt completely unreasonable. The shower water was cold, making it impossible to properly shower. We were also concerned about insects and ended up using insect repellent on ourselves during the stay. Overall, this experience negatively affected our trip, and unfortunately I cannot recommend staying at this property. Considering the high price and very poor quality, it was not worth the money at all.

The property was clean, spacious and an ideal location. Breakfast each morning was lovely and our host Fouad couldn’t have been any more helpful, he gave us excellent recommendations on restaurants, activities and organised our airport transfers. We realy enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend to anyone staying in Marrakesh.

Die Unterkunft wird super gut von Fouad geführt. Er kümmert sich um alles und ist super hilfsbereit. Die Ausstattung entspricht den Bildern. Wir können diese Unterkunft absolut empfehlen. Fouad noch einmal vielen Dank für alles.

Todo estupendo. La ubicación,la limpieza, el desayuno. Nos sentimos como en casa. Y gracias a Fouad, que nos trató de maravilla y nos ayudó muchísimo.

De gastvrijheid van Fouad en Shi Jia is gewoonweg fantastisch. Zo vriendelijk, zo behulpzaam, zo warm. Echt geweldig. De vlucht van onze zoon landde met ruime vertraging, na middernacht. Geen enkel probleem: Fouad regelde de shuttle en ging onze zoon persoonlijk opwachten bij de ingang van de medina om hem te begeleiden naar de riad. Exact hetzelfde bij onze terugvlucht. We moesten opstijgen om 5.55u 's morgens. Fouad heeft ons om 3u 's nachts persoonlijk naar de shuttle gebracht. Het gaf ons zo een veilig en warm gevoel. Fouad, tu sais: On est frères de sang! ❤ Ook de kamers waren prima. We hadden twee kamers die allebei perfect aan onze verwachtingen beantwoordden. 's Morgens konden we genieten van een heerlijk ontbijt op de binnenkoer, 's avonds even ontspannen in de zetels op het dak. We raden deze riad van harte aan! Spijtig dat je geen 11/10 kan geven. 😉
