On The Point - Lake Rotorua

Absolutely excellent in every way. Aptly named with tremendous views of the lake. The staff are friendly and helpful and sorted out our bookings. We dined there on our first evening and it truly was superb. It's incredibly peaceful and our room was huge and welcoming, again with wonderful views. I can only recommend it in every way.

We spent two nights here during our 16 day trip to New Zealand with nine family members. One family of five shared the luxurious home behind the main building, while each of the other two couples had their own cottages near the Lake. These are beautiful cottages ( as was the home ), well appointed, with great views of the lake. Unfortunately if you are close to the lake you also get to share your cottage with the swarming fruit flies that are prevalent during certain times of the year. Nothing can be done about that, and it really was not a big deal. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Everything about On The Point, Rotorua, was excellent. The beautifully accommodation, its location, the service and the staff - all were excellent.

The location and the view of the lake

Use of “suite” for a single room is misleading. It should be put more clearly that there is no door between the bedroom and the other space. Also the kitchen space should not be located near the bed. The closet to put the clothes was old not refurbished and dirty. The soundproofing was poor so that we can hear the other visitors. There is nothing luxury in that accommodation. Very first disappointment from our trip in NZ.

Our family had a wonderful experience at On the Point in Rotorua. The property offers a perfect blend of comfort and hospitality. We loved having an in-room washer and dryer. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us, including an early breakfast at 6:45 am (normally served at 7 am) to fit our early departure schedule. Special thanks to Nicki for her friendliness at breakfast and Adrianna for the warm welcome at check-in and her lovely dinner service—they truly made us feel at home. Dinner was a highlight, featuring a delicious beef filet and local fish, and the complimentary champagne cocktail on New Year’s Eve was a wonderful touch. The lake view was gorgeous. Our two boys (ages 15 and 11) had a great time on the tennis courts. The entire team was incredibly friendly and attentive, making our stay unforgettable. We can’t wait to return to this beautiful retreat!
