Gorgeous, peaceful setting. We spend many hours just sitting in the chairs overlooking the lake. We loved the huge windows in our room also overlooking the lake. The animals (donkeys, sheep, and ponies) make the lace extra special. We had a car but also took Ubers to and from town—a quick 10min ride. The tour companies also know this property Staff was fantastic. Niki worked the breakfasts when we were there and she was wonderful. So friendly and kind, she took excellent care of us. She gave us tips on places to go, always asked how our stay was, and truly cared that we were having a nice stay there.

We were on the bottom floor and could hear the kids upstairs running around. If possible, suggest asking for a room on the top level.

My wife and I spent two nights at On The Point, and it is truly a breathtaking place with spectacular views. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly, and the breakfast was fantastic. Our room was exceptionally spacious and beautifully appointed.

One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at. They have thought of all the little things and do the big things amazingly well. Great rooms/great views/amazing food and best of all we’re all the great people like Betsy who gave us terrific advice. We planned to stay here three days - after traveling to other parts of the North Island we came back for our last two nights (and paid for two nights elsewhere - On The Point is that good)

What a spot! Gorgeous views looking over the lake - pretty even if there were clouds and rain. This is a luxury spot, for sure. Beautifully appointed room, grounds include donkeys, ponies, and sheep (and a tennis court), great breakfast and dinner. And excellent service (shout out to Ian and Nadia). You need a car to get here, but doesn't take that long from town. This is a peaceful, relaxing spot.
