On The Point - Lake Rotorua

Our check-in felt a bit awkward—we were told many (many) times how the property and views are “quite stunning” as we were shown around. Everything else was very nice. Room had a great view, and we really liked the breakfast (and breakfast staff). Parking on the hill was tricky!

The location on he lake is beautiful as well as the entire property. The staff was amazing, so friendly and helpful.

Two couples staying in the the waterfront Lake Cottages 1 and 2 - wonderfully appointed and equipped with fabulous views and privacy. Dinner at The Mains the first night was superb, the second night (a Sunday) much less so. Breakfasts were excellent. Would very happily stay there again.

Everything about this resort was exceptional!

My wife and I stayed here near the start of our tour of New Zealand and what a great start it was. The setting is stunning and the room was beautiful, with a panoramic view of Lake Rotorua. Sam was waiting for us as we arrived and very kindly showed us around, and to our room. All of the staff were very friendly, polite and welcoming. Mel makes a very good ‘Old Fashioned’ and was very informative and happy to chat about his Māori heritage. The only issue we had was the noise made by the occupants above us who seemed to be walking around in hard soled shoes on a hard floor. This kept us awake until after 01:30am. We asked to be moved and were swapped to a 1st floor room a couple of nights after. Although the noise wasn’t completely the fault of the hotel, I would recommend asking for an upstairs room. Some better insulation or softer floor surface would help to minimise disturbance to ground floor residents. Despite the above, I would highly recommend the hotel because of the location and staff.

Truly an exquisite stay! The decor and attention to detail were breathtaking, and the spaces were both comfortable and offered amazing views of the lake. It felt private yet perfectly catered to our needs. The dining options were exceptional, with thoughtful consideration for a variety of dietary preferences. Highly recommended!

Absolutely everything was top notch at this unique hotel. The rooms, the views, the food and the staff. They really made you feel pampered. If you are going to Rotorua, this is the place to stay. It is conveniently located to everything, but still private.

Beautiful views of Marlborough Sound, lots of room, great breakfast. We stayed at the owner’s suite which had lots of room for our family of 6. You could have had two more people and there still would have been more than enough space. The views were spectacular! They had sheep, horses and goats that you could feed, which our girls enjoyed. The kitchen cut up fresh carrots for them. Great hospitality and wonderful experience!

Wonderful 2 night stay in the 2 bedroom apartment on this lovely property. The staff and service was outstanding. The apartment was perfect with two completely seperate bedrooms and bathrooms a common livingroom with small table and kitcehnette. Ideal for a family of 4 or two couples. Private jaccuzi, in unit washer and dryer and fantastic view of the lake.
