Hotel Verviers Van der Valk

Very unique room with the bed up in the loft. The room was extremely spacious, clean, and filled with amenities (safe; frig with soda, beer and water; toiletries; tub; towel warmer; room service; luggage trolley). The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, especially in the restaurant. Outdoor parking was free and accommodated our large SUV. Location is convenient also- walking distance to a strip mall and a chocolate museum, the Val Dieu Abbey and brasserie are a short drive away. Some areas of improvement: the room wifi was extremely weak or non-existent; with the bed upstairs and heat rising, the bedroom was a little uncomfortably warm even in late September, and the automatic window and shutter would not remain open; over all the bed was a little too soft. Also, it was a little noisy from the street noise. It would be nice to have a tv downstairs to watch the news while eating breakfast or just to watch without being in bed. Also, it would give the person sleeping downstairs something to watch. Please add a toilet brush and garbage can to the toilet; having a separate toilet room was nice though. The tub stopper did not keep the water from draining while taking a bath, so that may need to be checked. Also, we had to reset our door key twice during the weekend stay. Overall, though, really liked the room set-up and enjoyed our stay. May return for New Year's Eve.

Nice hotel but front desk staff is not pleasant and not willing to help. The bed mattress is the worst i ever saw too soft and not stable, you have always the impression you are falling from bed. But except that it s a nice hotel very well maintained.

Great peaceful location and leisure facilities. Large comfortable rooms, as well as pleasant bar and restaurant with outdoor area.

Excellent hotel, modern, lively with an excellent restaurant. Very lively at lunchtime and for evening dinner which is a good indication of the quality of food and service.

Great rooms with loft...great morning buffet...nothing bad...

Excellent facility, however pool was filthy. Concierge was very helpful calling us a cab and communicating with driver in French. Air-conditioning was lovely, as well as the energy-efficient lighting. Highly recommended as best place to stay in Verviers!

We arrived at 2 o'clock in the morning and were checked in straight away. The hotel seemed to provide everything we wanted.

This is the second time I've stayed at this hotel, it's in the ideal location for both the local town and going further afield. Such as visiting Germany or Luxembourg, which we did on this trip. The staff are friendly enough and the atmosphere is great in the evenings as the hotel seems to be the focal point for those going out for a few drinks and food.
