Daiwa Roynet Hotel Hiroshima

Excellent!

Great location, clean and helpful staff

We had a pleasant 2 night stay at this new and modern hotel. The location is great as it is a short walk to the Hiroshima station as well as many restaurants and shops. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and always ready to assist with any questions. Our room was clean, modern, and well-equipped with everything we needed, including a very comfortable bed, fast Wi-Fi and a spacious bathroom. The rooms are on high floors as the lobby starts on the 13th floor. We had a lovely view of downtown Hiroshima from our room. The only downside about this hotel was the breakfast. We weren’t crazy about the options and were looking for more continental options. Overall, I recommend this hotel.

Well kept clean and quiet. Walking distance to many sites and restaurants and transportation to Shinkansen is easy via bus and tram.

This hotel was the dirtiest hotel we stayed at in Japan! Ripped curtains, dirty walls, dirty carpet and the pillows smelled of smoke! Staff were not helpful at all! Breakfast was not what was ordered and eventually our agent in Australia contacted their office to complain only to be given a message of ‘we will refund the cost’ ! Will never stay again ever!

Good basic rooms. Convenient to transportation and dining and shopping options in Naka-ku and Peace Park.

Overall great hotel. Breakfast buffet was good. The beds were too hard for my liking though. One quirk of the hotel is that check in is on the 13 floor When you enter the building there are elevators near the 7-11. You take this elevator to floor 13 to check in. We initially wandered around first floor looking for check in then saw some people get into the elevator near 7-11 store. After figuring that out everything was good

This hotel, like many in Japan has a tiny room so not really a ding there though the layout of the room made it feel particularly small (if we opened our suitcases, we could not walk from the door to the beds. The hotel location is great if you plan on visiting the Genbaku Dome, which is a ten minute walk with many restaurants and mini-marts close by. But the reason that I was happy we were only here for the one night, was that the beds were super hard and each bed only had one thin pillow (the front desk said they have no additional pillows). As such, I am writing this review from the hotel lobby at 4AM after TRYING to sleep for about 4-5 hours, without any success. Also, most hotels offer coffee at the lobby, but not Daiwa Royal Hotel... During our stay in Japan we have stayed at Comfort Hotels and much prefer them over Daiwa Royal Hotel. Only later did we see that there is a Comfort Hotels directly across the street!
