Heritage Park Hotel

This is a real oasis in the bustle of Honiara. I had booked a twin room and asked for upstairs sea view balcony, neither of which were delivered, but in the end we were happy with the view from our ground floor terrace with good sea view and close to the pool but not the bar next door. The bed was extremely comfortable, good shower and lovely toiletries. You get RO filtered water in a carafe which they keep refilled for you. There’s tea/coffee and pay mini bar and a safe and tv with international news channels and pay to view. My main criticism was that the pillows were so stuffed with microfibre they were comfortable to sit up in bed with but far too deep for sleeping on without getting a very stiff neck. I did ask if they had something less hard but they didn’t. I tried using a cushion inner because they were feather but also over stuffed. I also tried to pre book an airport pick up first via booking.com and then also through the hotel web chat. After several attempts with no response I tried the reservation email and got a quick response and apology. They were at the airport as requested. We were lucky to get the fantastic curry buffet night. The food was superb. A la carte also had good options and well cooked. We chose to eat breakfast at the Break Water cafe which is right next door and a magnet for the international set with very good food and baked goods. The swimming pool was large and we had it entirely to ourselves each time we used it. It’s true that there is almost no shade which would be a problem if busy, at weekends perhaps. The gardens were beautiful and kept immaculate by the grounds team. The staff were all very nice and friendly, and keen to help. We had to post souvenirs home because they were made of natural materials and we were going to New Zealand next, and the front desk team found us parcel tape and marker pens, and the post office is right opposite which sells padded envelopes. Finally a very good craft market is right next door. Make room for a painting!

Hotel is located close to the main business in Honiara, well presented and lovely staff more than happy to help.

Nothing but good things to say about the hotel and the staff and management. We booked a room with two beds and were upgraded to a three bedroom apartment gratis. Great room, great location. Decent restaurant and poolside bar.
