Alegro Hotel

The hotel is located across the street from a nice park and was a short walk to many restaurants and bars. It is also a 15 minute walk over to the old town and a little farther still to the fortress, which is the main attraction in town. The staff was very gracious and as a bonus the restaurant was quite good as well. Definitely recommended for a stay in Veliko Tarnovo.

A very nice hotel. A great bargain. The only negative...(In February) the heat was on so much we head to sleep with open windows and it was still hot in the room with the heat off.

So we were in this hotel for 2 nights and both nights the air-conditioning didn't work. Complained to Hotel staff about it but was told that there is a fault but nothng was done about it - they could have at least brought in a fan for us?!? The room is small but adequate if it weren't for the air-conditioning. We had to open the windows and the noise from the pubs/clubs was deafening. The breakfast is strangely "rationed". I had asked for an English breakfast but was told that because I had ordered an omlette with chilli and cheese, I couldn't get two other items on the rationed menu being the vegetables and the bacon. I found this very strange but didn't bother to argue as the waiters didn't know too much english. The location of this hotel is good though and the reception staff is friendly. Wireless interent is intermittent.

We loved this hotel. I have a thing that I like to stay in hotels w/ white bedding and the pictures of this place didn't have that, but then nothing did in this city. We decided to stay here anyway and were pleasantly surprised. They do have great white bedding, it's just hidden under the quilts in the picture. The room was very comfortable. We had a nice, big bathroom with a little balcony off of it. The location is great, right by the main street, and the hotel staff was extremely helpful. Would definitely recommend this place!
