Susafa

We stayed 7 nights here for our honeymoon and had a mixed experience. The service from Martha, Ita, Francesca, Giuseppe, Michaela and every staff member was excellent—always helpful, kind, and professional. The property itself is beautiful, offering a peaceful, rustic atmosphere with stunning landscapes. However, while it’s common for upscale places to offer honeymoon perks, none were provided here. Although the hotel is adults-only, the owner’s children were at the pool one day during our stay. The owner’s dog, Bruno, is very well cared for, but sadly, Bruno’s two puppies were kept in poor, cruel conditions under the sun. As for the food, it was good but noy amazing. Lunch is €30 and lacks any protein, with the mostly the same menu offered daily. Dinner had a good menu, but the portions were extremely small. Wine pours, both at the bar and during meals, were very small, especially for the price. The pool also needed better maintenance. Overall, a beautiful place with room for improvement.

The remote location was perfect for switching off and relaxing. The pool was beautiful and plenty of sun loungers. The food was amazing, the breakfast was faultless and all of the dinners we had were delicious. The buildings were gorgeous. The staff were incredible and were a real highlight of the stay.

For a luxury hotel, there were a few minor things that I wouldn’t have expected - the pool towels we were given were a bit tatty (threads hanging out and some small holes), and there was some mould in our room. The farmhouse is extremely old so damp is understandable but not ideal for paying customers. Additionally it would have been nice to have more variety of snacks available, as we were in the middle of nowhere we couldn’t pop out for some smaller snacks and the menu options were too elaborate for a quick snack.

Needed a place to unpack clothes. Was a bit too calm at times. Some social gatherings might encourage interaction if that is the goal.

We came here on our honeymoon, and I’m so, so glad we did. Everything was wonderful; the room was clean and had everything we needed, the breakfast buffet and restaurant food were all brilliant and the grounds and pool are exceptional. The staff couldn’t have been nicer and really made the trip special.

Our stay at Susafa was truly memorable. The place is super peaceful and private, providing the perfect escape from everyday life. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The food is exceptional, made with local produce and very tasty. Breakfast, in particular, was outstanding. The experiences offered at Susafa are what really add value to the stay. Highly recommend trying the picnic in nature, which was a delightful experience. The massage was incredibly relaxing, and we concluded our stay with a fantastic boat tour in Cefalù, which was a highlight of our trip. Susafa is carefully curated, creating a true oasis of relaxation. Can't wait to return!
