Good money and service for a motel, staff were really friendly, a 2 minute walk from the mall as well.

Only downside was no way to cool the room in summer.

Well equiped, quiet room, comfortable bed, great shower. Very helpful, friendly staff and owner. Regular buses to the city centre and back and also on the bus route for the airport. Reserved off street parking. Great to have a balcony, particularly as it was on the first floor. If we come back to Christchurch at any time we would definitely look to stay at the Athena Motel.😊

Maybe a few more kitchen utensils/ crockery, knives and forks, but not essential.

There were no black out curtains. Cars that arrived back late at night, the lights came through the curtains, disturbing sleep.

Very easy to get too good parking and across the road from Riccarton mall. Plenty of food choices on riccarton road. The host was great we extended our stay twice due to weather and flights it was not a problem.
