The ladies at reception went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. I think the receptionist her name was Tania or Tatiana, she was amazing and provided a complimentary late check out inclusive of lunch and a complimentary taxi returning to the airport in the day of our departure to make up for the downside of our stay There is a spacious, bright and airy lobby and foodhall. Pool and sunbed area was very well maintained. Our bedroom suite was a very good size and comfortable. Also loved the sea view from the foodhall.

The lifts were out of order 5days out of seven, quite an inconvenience given the large scale of the property and we were on the 5th floor. Some of the waiting staff in the foodhall were exceptionally rude and embarrassed guests on a number of occasions,, myself included. We were guests during storm Therese and there was very heavy rainfall, not the hotels fault but our room was flooded for 3 consecutive nights as the water seemed to be seeping through the exterior walls, we had to put all of our towels onto the floor to mop up the flood water and had to wait forr clean ones to be brought every morning before we could shower. Also the windows in the bedroom and living area were broken so we couldn't open our windows for a few days until they were fixed. The spa albeit a independent business, a number of their facilities were not working, the young staff however were lovely.and couldn't do enough, the owner is very lucky yo have them.

"A great value, relaxing destination"

10.0

My second visit. I'm glad I went back. Although at the time of booking jet2 still rated the place 4 star, by the time I arrived it had dropped to 3 star plus. I cannot see any deterioration in the accommodation, facilities, staff or catering since I last visited in 2024, I understand the change in rating is due to a shift in criteria. You can eat really well here. I don't think I saw much repetition in the hot meals, save for one or two items. I would rate the food highly, I can't say I'm an experienced tourist traveller, but over my career I have stayed in a lot of business hotels, I would much rather have the food here, I don't understand folk who complain about it in these reviews, or credit their claims of having better experiences elsehwere, I do wish they would name these magical places. At this price point, I really can't fault this hotel, my room was well cleaned every day, towels replaced as necessary and I found all the staff very amenable. If I had a gripe, I would happily wait for the AI bar offer to start at 11am, rather than 10am, if it meant it continued until midnight when the bars all closed, rather than paying for drinks for an hour at the end of the day (but at around £3 a pint, it's a minor quibble). There are facilities that I didn't take advantage of, such as the spa, but I certainly didn't hear any other patrons complaining about such things. There is a terrfic restaurant underneath the hotel, and I fully recommend a visit during your stay. I sure don't rule out a third visit in the future.

"Winter sun break"

10.0

We had 10 nights at this hotel . About a mile walk to the centre of the resort .We walked it most days an easy walk along good pavements and flat .Sea on one side and a quiet road on the other side . Plenty of people watching wave watching on reaching the town and the dare devils on kite boards and wind surfing. Yes the area is very windy but that is why world championships of kite surfing and wind surfing take place here . The hotel had many nationalities which is great we met some great guests enjoying many games of chess and cards . This is an adults only hotel and we took the all inclusive option. We were not disappointed by the food or the drink options .I enjoyed the cocktail called Honeymoon. Staff very friendly and happy to chat when they had the time .Room was serviced efficiently we never saw the housekeeping staff .Bed remade every day bathroom cleaned .When asked for another pillow no problem delivered to the room . If you want a quiet holiday away from the hustle of other resorts where you have to dodge the invalid scooters and pick pockets try here .

"Relaxing break away"

8.0

My fiance and I have just returned from a short break here and no complaints from us. We were very kindly upgraded to a beautiful sea view room, a joy up wake up to! Room was lovely and clean with comfy beds. The shower was nice but it leaked all over the bathroom. Tea/coffee facilities are always welcome! Air con didn’t always work but we slept with the doors open. Bliss! We upgraded to all inclusive whilst we were there (36€ per person, per night) as there are very limited bars/restaurants in the immediate area. This made things easier to get food and drink and we were happy with the selection available. We enjoyed the food, good choice and always hot. I agree with the previous review that the juices weren’t great and the cups were small. Breakfast was lovely too. Drinks were nice too, no small measures. Location - it’s 1.5km walk from El Medano, there’s literally nothing else around the hotel. Uber was quoting 30€ to get into El Medano. We found 2 restaurants over the road (next to the hyrox gym) which were very busy and full of locals, would recommend trying here if you want a break from hotel food. About a 5 min walk. We used the hotel gym - it’s basic but had what we needed for a workout. Loads of sun loungers round the pool and no issues getting a bed. The pool was so nice and warm! We didn’t use the spa facilities. We didn’t bother with the entertainment, we preferred sitting upstairs near the piano area as it was nice and relaxing. Monday evening had a fantastic saxophonist, loved him! It is more geared up to older guests but this didn’t bother us. We missed the hype with the film crew but had been told about people (staff unfortunately) doing drugs and we often smelt weed which isn’t ideal. The lift was broken for a few days but the hotel let some of the elders use the staff lift so they still had access to the other floors and facilities - this seemed to be dependent on which staff member was monitoring it! All in all, we’d stay here again. We’re not bothered about walking so wandering into El Medano was ok for us. If you’re looking for British bars/restaurants, this place is not for you. But if you’re wanting relaxation and to get away from it all, the hotel is ideal.

"Disgusting service and food"

2.0

Not Recommended. Breakfast should be condemned raw bacon raw eggs and bullet sausages all luke warm. Bread not fresh very stale. Thank heavens we only went B&B. Poor quality orange and apple juice. Cutlery missing on table. Baby size cups for tea and coffee. Hotels lifts not working and no back up plan disabled people suffering trying to use the stairs. Certainly would not recommend this hotel as your holiday accommodation. Disgraceful.

"Great place to stay for a chilled holiday"

8.0

Lovely hotel, I travelled with my partner, mum and step dad. There were many positives about this hotel: Entertainment- Tiego was an incredible asset to this hotel! He ensured everyone was having fun and worked so hard. Even on sunny days he would arrange some in door entertainment. Such a lovely guy as well who made everyone feel welcome. Staff- on the whole staff in the hotel were lovely, we had a great welcome when arriving at reception, maids would say hello to you and bar staff were kind. I think there was only one I came across who was a bit moody but otherwise everyone else was so nice and loved it when you attempted to speak Spanish. Hotel- rooms we spacious, clean and there were some lovely seated areas in the foyer for a sit down and chill. Pool area was always clean and the pool was warm which was great on the windy days. You do need to pay 1 euro deposit for your cup but you get that back once you hand your cup in. Free towels which you collect from the spa. Do make sure you hand them back at the end of the holiday otherwise you'll get charged for not handing the towel card in. On bad weather days they opened up the bar near reception earlier so people could have a drink as well. Beds and towels were changed everyday we were there. All inclusive is up until 11pm but I think it averaged about 6 euro for a drink thereafter which we didn't find unreasonable. Food- genuinely cannot fault the food. We aren't fussy eaters so there was always something we could find. The hotel provided themed nights. We have never been anywhere that serves so much Salmon and we loved this! Food was tasty and there was always plenty of fresh salad to accompany your meals. Now the negatives: Hotel spa- I use spa in the loosest term. For 15 euro for 2 hours we found this a bit steep. It was lovely to go in there out of the adverse weather, but the place is in need of refurbishment. There are also things that do not work like some of the jets on the jacuzzi. The sauna and steam room are tiny and very tired looking. I think if these were improved, it would make the experience far better as it was otherwise really nice. Other guests- I had to make a complaint to reception regarding cannabis use on our floor. We were able to identify the room as the smell in mine and my mums room was disgusting. I was informed it is illegal but yet not a lot was done about this. (Although not sure what else could be but it wasn't a pleasant experience). There were also other guests who had observed cocaine use in the hotel. There was also a hen party during our stay. I'm all up for girls having fun, but they were incredibly disruptive at meal times and had even made other guests feel very uncomfortable and the hotel didn't really intervene. The staff however, would fuel them with more alcohol and even offered them cocktails at dinner which other guests hadn't had access to. I don't personally agree with favouritism but the chef's from the kitchen certainly made this obvious. They too as well as the film crew were incredibly loud late of an evening and the hotel staff allowed this. Our first night we were chatting in the foyer and were moved on very quickly. We respected why we were moved on but this should be applied to all guests too. Beds- a little too firm for my liking, so I did struggle to sleep whilst I was staying here El medano itself is around a 15-20 minute walk away, the area is lovely and appears to be very well looked after. It is quite small, no sports bars if you're after a football game to watch but you do get a lovely view from sitting outside a cafe/restaurant. Overall I would stay here again if the opportunity presented itself. Although, staying in Tenerife again I have been put off by as our experience at the airport was hell. If you are flying to tenerife south do ensure you are getting to the airport 3 hours before departure if you can. The E gates were a nightmare and you can wait up to 2 hours alone in the passport control queue, we were lucky our flight waited. However, Ryanair and Easy jet passengers were not so lucky.

"Beautiful hotel but lacks the personal touch and entertainment"

8.0

KN Arenas Hotel Review – 8/10 I stayed at KN Arenas and upgraded to all-inclusive for four nights at €36 per night, which was great value. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, always happy to see me. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner offered a delicious range of hot and cold foods catering to all diets. The coffee machine was excellent, and the main dining hall had themed menus daily. The hotel also arranged a beautiful birthday cake for a friend, which was a lovely touch (€18). Positives: • Staff: Tiego, a new member of the animation team, was exceptional – professional, polite, and energetic, managing aqua aerobics, guest interaction, and evening entertainment without complaint. He deserves a pay raise and promotion. • Facilities: Rooms have excellent bathroom space with good water pressure, sinks at a high level, a bidet, and eco-friendly towel policy. Balcony views of the ocean and pool area are lovely, with functional seating and a pull-out washing line. The reception and piano lounge are attractive, relaxing spaces, enhanced by fish ponds and water features. The TV/billiards/library room is comfortable and has a great ocean view. Concerns / Areas for Improvement: • Entertainment & Noise: The Saturday film crew took over evening entertainment from 9 pm to midnight and were loud and inappropriate until 3 am. On multiple occasions, guests played music loudly in the piano lounge and security staff did not intervene. A hen party on March 27 disrupted breakfast and dinner, causing distress to other guests, including a guest in a wheelchair. Restaurant staff continued serving alcohol without addressing inappropriate behaviour. Training staff on customer care and awareness of PTSD is recommended. • Animation / Activities: Entertainment does not start until 9 pm, making days very boring for solo guests. There were no daytime games or activities. Comparisons to other hotels (e.g., Barcelo Santiago) show daily morning and afternoon activities and games plus evening entertainment. • All-Inclusive Experience: Drinks after 11 pm were not included, and there was no wine list or wine offered at dinner. Snacks were very limited (a few sandwiches, toasties, pastries) and not available late at night. All-inclusive should include a good lunch, snacks all day, and late-night options. • Room Comfort: The bed is extremely firm with no option for a mattress topper or memory foam pillows, resulting in back, neck, and shoulder pain. Unless you sleep instantly or standing up, it’s uncomfortable. • Facilities Access: On Wednesday, March 18, the TV/billiards/library room was closed due to film crew work. Guests must pay to play billiards, which is disappointing. • Dining Experience: While the food is good, there is no staff welcoming guests, no wine list, and personal table service is only offered to large groups. Offering a server and wine options would enhance the dining experience. Summary: KN Arenas is a beautiful hotel with friendly staff, delicious food, and lovely communal areas. However, unprofessional staff behaviour, excessive noise, lack of daytime activities, and limited all-inclusive options reduce the overall experience. With improvements in staff training, entertainment, and snack/drink availability, I would return. Rating: 8/10

"Thank you for making my solo experience"

10.0

I found the hotel reception staff and hotel staff wonderfully helpful and friendly. I travelled on my own and celebrated my birthday at the hotel . I was treated to a bottle of Cava with a special congratulations note and it was really appreciated by me that it had been flagged up and the was made to feel special. I met some lovely people and thinking of travelling back later this year ! Thank you Julie H
