Sandaway Suites & Beach

The location was wonderful - quiet and peaceful. Beautiful setting right on the water. Room had everything we needed and super clean. Coffee was delivered to our room each morning.

There was nothing we disliked but thought it would have been nice to have a breakfast in the morning at the hotel.

The view of the water was breathtaking. Little town and shops, great restaurants nearby with great views and food.

Beautiful rooms with screened in porches facing the water, in an 1875 building. Shady grounds with chairs to enjoy the view of boats on the Bay, small beach. Walking distance to quaint downtown Oxford.

The owner and innkeeper are the most gracious and considerate hosts. They surely know how to make their guests feel welcomed, comfortable, and appreciated. We did not have to request a thing; everything we needed was already thoughtfully provided in our unit. The AC, WiFi, Cable TV, window shades, appliances, etc. worked well. The oyster and other shells were plentiful at the water's edge. The Tred Avon Yacht Club is adjacent to Sandaway and provided entertainment as we observed the young people learning to sail. The Oxford-Bellevue Ferry, whose dock is walking distance from Sandaway, was out of commission but expected to be operating in a couple of days. Although our days at Sandaway were cloudy and drizzly, we found much to do on the property, in the neighborhood, and in the nearby towns of Easton and Trappe. In town, the Treasure Chest features the creations of local artists. The merchant is a jewelry artisan and her working studio is next door to her shop. Scottish Highland Ice Cream makes the best fudge, chocolate truffles, and ice cream...YUM! A community park offers swings, picnic tables, great views of the river, and a short path to a sandy bank on the river. Sandaway is less than twenty minutes from retail shopping, grocery stores, movie theaters, etc. This charming boutique hotel is in a quiet, residential neighborhood, but the town of Easton is only a short and scenic drive away when you need a change of pace.

The resort itself is very nice; quiet, peaceful, and in a great location. The internet was in and out for our stay which made it hard to watch TV and do other things. That said the owner Ben did help get the issue resolved to the best of his ability and provided a late checkout to make up for the issue. All in all the resort accomplished it's goal for us of peace and relaxation.

Sandaway and Oxford were a great combination for our anniversary trip this year. Quiet, comfortable, beautiful scenery…they had it all.

Very relaxing place to stay, view and location is perfect. Have stayed here a number of times and have never been disappointed. As others have said, small touches like welcome bag and fresh carafe of coffee on our door every morning make this a truly welcoming place to stay.

Couldn't ask for a better location. This property sits right on the Chesapeake Bay and provides beautiful evenings sitting by the water enjoying the peaceful views. Well maintained property with all the amenities. Little touches like the welcome bag filled with goodies/snacks, small flashlights attached to each key, and the fresh carafe of coffee on our door every morning make this a truly welcoming place to stay.
