Sandaway Suites & Beach

My wife and I wanted to celebrate our 60th wedding anniversary in a very low key way and Sandaway was absolutely perfect for us. The view from our suite was idyllic. We loved the freedom to enjoy local restaurants. Morning coffee was a special treat. We are already talking about our next visit to Oxford and Sandaway.

This was our second stay at the Sandaway in lovely, charming Oxford, MD. A most lovely setting and pleasant place for a vacation and welcome "change of scenery" from Condo life in DC. We were energized relaxing on the lovely lawnchairs, enjoying the view over the water and watching boat traffic.

This place was Amazing ! It has a very homey feel, inviting you could say . The grounds are well kept and pathways maintained. The house itself is simply beautiful! Our room had a wonderful view of the Tred Avon River and a Spectacular sunset . The innkeeper was very kind and accommodating. Speaking of rooms , ours was very clean and comfortable. The inn’s location is close to several nice places to visit. The town is very laid back with a friendly Mayberry vibe . This is a must stay place ! A side note, there is Tesla destination charging available. Level 2 48amp . One charger at the moment with another ready to be wired in. They are located behind the building to the left . If you enjoy beautiful sunsets , laid back lifestyle with great accommodations then this place is for You !

Sandaway is a beautiful location inside and out and so peaceful! We enjoyed the beach loft bay view! The owners left us a welcome bag with lots of goodies inside to enjoy! I’ve never stayed anywhere before that left us such a nice treat! They also left us carafes of coffee in the morning at the private gate in the stairway that leads up to the third floor loft. They’ve reallly thought of everything to ensure you enjoy your stay!

Great place to stay. Romantic, lovely home and location! Very easy to book and great response and service! We will return for sure! Not to be missed!

Very quiet, off the beaten path kind of place. It was a bit pricey on a long weekend, but we had a wonderfully leisure time there. Wild rabbits were running on the lawns, so cute! The inn keepers were attentive and gave us a few "care packages", we also loved the cucumber soap. The only downside is the lack of food choices in town, I think with this location it may have been a good thing to pay extra for breakfast on site.

Sandaway is an amazing B&B. It is honestly the “best kept secret” of places to stay on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. The stunning water views and peaceful environment never ever disappoints. If you’re looking for a unique getaway, Sandaway is the spot!

Sandaway is an extraordinary “find” of an accommodation! Serenity! Imagine sitting on a wide green lawn in a white Adirondack chair with gentle waves lapping on a tiny beach which opens to tranquil waters being plied by the large yachts and billowing sails of the sailboats on their way to the open waters of the Chesapeake! This tiny town is where Michener wrote his famous novel “Chesapeake” ! The guests are quiet, the sounds are the birds, the wind in the old trees, the sound of a page being turned on a book. This Inn is an old and very fine lady who walks slowly and smiles sweetly. The host, Ben Gibson, is a young man who manages with the quietest and gentlest manner and is the son of the long time owners who have kept the doors open on this most unique Inn. It has been said that you “either GET Sandaway or you don’t”. I’ve been coming here for years. I get it. Come to leave the hustle behind. Come to read. Come to stroll. Come for the sunsets. A tiny town surrounds you with old houses now restored to beauty, front porches with swings, kids riding bikes, ice cream cones , a park. This place is a unique haven. You will come and come again!
