Guaycura Boutique Hotel, Beach Club & Spa

This was our first time in Todos Santos and we didn’t rent a car. Given that, it is a great location in downtown where you can easily walk to shops and restaurants. We had a beautiful suite on the back side (farthest away from the road). Overall, it’s a beautiful hotel with all the amenities you need. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooftop bar is an incredible place to watch sunsets and Paul is a great bartender. The beach club at El Faro is definitely worth the visit but you will need a car to get there. The big down side for us was NOISE! The hotel is located on the main road out of Town. I can’t tell you how many sirens and emergency vehicles went by during our 4 night stay. Unfortunately, the positives were overridden by our lack of sleep. General traffic noise is constant and at times the building vibrates from construction vehicles and cars playing music. I can’t imagine how loud the street noise is from rooms on the street side of the hotel. In addition, the hotel has open areas and tile floors throughout which allows sound to travel easily. During our stay there was a large group of women that would sit in the bar area (laughing loudly) starting at 7 AM and we could hear it in our room on the second floor. We are usually up early (6am) but were awakened each morning by noise from in and outside the hotel.

Need more taxis in town

Lovely location beautiful hotel - huge room ! I only ate there once but it was Very good food - I had the soft shelled crab it was delicious. The hibiscus margarita was pretty good too!

No robe in the bathroom. Bars closed early as did the restaurant . The Internet dies not work well in the area - not the hotels fault / but difficult to get about on GPS.

This is a great choice, as it is am excellent small hotel in town (everything is walkable) plus a beach club a short taxi ride away. Both are delightful and just right. I highly recommend booking this hotel. Loved it!!!

Great location - old charming building

No good water pressure in the shower of my room 202 - not enough to rinse out your hair. Water was warm not hot.

Wonderful little hotel in a charming, Pueblo Magico town. Hotel was adorable and comfortable. Very well located on a charming street near many cafes, shops and restaurants. Town itself is so quaint and charming and this hotel fits in well. Staff was very accommodating and helpful. Affiliated El Faro beach club very pretty and relaxing. Sadly didn't get a chance to enjoy the spa but I suspect it is fabulous.

I really didn’t want to write this review since the hotel honored my cancellation of the remaining 3 nights. Nevertheless, I feel I owe it to the travel community to share my experience. First and foremost, we were greeted by a dead cockroach on our balcony. We told the staff and while they cleaned it, nary an apology for quite frankly a grotesque find. You don’t expect that at this price point — $400 !!! We immediately initiated a cancellation request and the front desk seemed to be perturbed by it. Like WE were causing THEM an inconvenience. While we got that request, we still had to stay two nights. What else did we have in store for us? A toilet that didn’t properly flush, one trash can for the entire room, ONE robe for a 2 double bed room, a half carafe of water (no cups), no coffee machine, no ice machine, unheated pools, etc. When we poked around a bit more, all kinds of details missed - fading window panes, a loose toilet flusher, an outdated and out of place shower, and just generally not up to the standard of “boutique” hotel. The kicker? Nobody even came to clean our room the next day. Just really really really disappointing all around. I’ll end on a positive, there are two employees that should be called out as exceptional — Estrella for her actual warm welcome and attentiveness and Valeria for even seeing us on the street and greeting us with the the kind of warmth and hospitality that I have learned to love about Mexican hospitality culture!
