Sue and Rob went out of their way to give us a really lovely stay! Lovely room and magnificent breakfasts!

Rob and Sue are fantastic people, and their hospitality is worth the stay - the only regret for me and my son was that we did not take the time to talk to them more. So our stay and perhaps the Barbican Reach is more defined by their special kindness than the usual details of a guest house. But...indeed the location of the Barbican Reach is perfect, within the historic part of Plymouth, with cobbled streets and a sense of a fascinating past that the rest of Plymouth lack. We walked to a very good restaurant in the harbor. We had a room with a separate toilet (which was not very convenient but we booked late): all was functional and clean. We also had a good view from our room on the old, steep roofs of the Barbican (and the somewhat bleak rest of Plymouth). Breakfast was excellent, with Rob's version of the Royal Navy's Cheesy Hammy Eggy - my 13-year old son was impressed and used all his English to thank Rob.

My husband and I stayed at Barbican Reach for a friend's wedding, and it was exactly what we needed. Rob and Sue were welcoming and helpful, our room was clean and had all the facilities we could have wanted, the breakfasts were excellent, and the location was brilliant too.

Excellent breakfast from an attentive host. Great variety and everything freshly cooked. Rob and Sue were both very welcoming.

Very well maintained guest house with super helpful staff. Effective use of space in my single room, with everything in good working order. Great location, with the Barbican on the doorstep. Loved the naval connection, including the breakfast options.
