You'll either love it or hate it. Quirky architecture. Amusing or spooky depending on your point of view. Maintenance a bit neglected so not 100% comfortable. Quiet up-market location away from the hassle, but a 15 minute walk from the action. Steep steps up to and down from the road. Good service. Fair value.

This hotel is conveniently situated for downtown and has a fantastic sea side location. It is not suited for business travellers. Service is friendly but a bit patchy. Room and other amenities were somewhat played out and in need of renovation. The decor / ambiance and building design is uniquely strange. I would not stay again

The sea terrace was good with a small but nice small swimming pool. Good service, however the rooms are a bit dark - at least the rooms towards the yard. The lighting is primarily light tubes, which makes the room a bit dull and cool.

After spending ten days in the interior of Senegal in small villages, this hotel was a breath of fresh air! It is an outstanding boutique hotel with unusual decor. The walls, floors, ceilings were constructed of concrete flowing around the corners and out into some awesomely decorated commons rooms. In some areas, the concrete was painted colors and in others, it was impressed with patterns or pictures. The accessory decor was of unusual pieces and a wide collection of textures. The staff keeps it very clean even though the largest is always open to the outside-it never is closed off completely from the outside. The ocean view is outstanding. I would recommend it to anyone. It is not your standard "chain" hotel in another city.

Sokhamon is oddly and quite nicely hippy, great location but lacks any finese what so ever. It is clean and friendly but thats about it. Breakfast is terrible, dinner was expensive but good quality. Please dont book an inside (patio view) room, they are so so dark.

The staff at the Hotel Sokhamon were very kind and helpful. The view from the hotel is breathtaking. It's a great place for a drink at sunset. The interior design of the hotel is really innovative and fun! It's important to brush up on your French. English is spoken but knowing French to get around the city is important. The continental breakfast was a big advantage. It was wonderful to enjoy meals looking at the ocean. Yet so close to the center of the city.

Over all it was a nice place to stay and a good deal. The location was perfect. It's in the city or Dakar. All the places that I was supposed to visit was in a walking distance. The only problem is the long stairs to access the hotel it self. It will be helpful for them to get an escalator or elevator for seniors or people with disabilities. The hotel is next to the sea, so you have a direct access to the see and a beautiful view. To get to the hotel from the road you will need to take a long stair, which isn't very easy if you need to leave the hotel all the time. The hotel is unique by it decoration, if you are expecting a modern decoration this isn't the place for you. But if you are looking for a new experience then you won't be disappointed. The rooms that doesn't have an ocean view are not equipped with a refrigerator which I wasn't aware of until I got there. The personal was nice and good.
