I stayed one night. The owner, Allen, was polite and helpful. Because all of rooms required a walk up a flight of stairs, Allen told me I could safely leave my heavy bag in the lobby, which I did. No one bothered it. The room was very simple and small, but it was clean. The open window kept a nice breeze blowing throughout my stay. It was nice to have a sink in the room, as well as water, tea bags and instant coffee. The single bed was comfortable enough. The drawbacks were that the bathroom was down the hall, the wall-mounted television was relatively small, and there was no button on the remote to pull up a show guide. Also, there was no thermostat in the room, so I had to leave the window open all night. It kept the temperature pleasant, but also was quite noisy until late. There was a pub within a 5 minute walk, but that was the only food nearby for someone on foot. Allen did give me a drive to the airport the next morning and that was much appreciated. Overall, it was comfortable, but next time I'll be sure the place I stay is en suite.

I booked my 17yo son in here overnight to catch an early morning flight from Gatwick after his flight from Birmingham was cancelled! As he was arriving late (by train) and leaving early - (by shuttle bus arranged for free through the guest house by email contact) he didn't see the staff but said the place was lovely, comfortable and clean, and showed me photos. The late check-in plan was clearly communicated to me by email and was easy for my son to execute. And as I mentioned he was picked up efficiently the next day for no extra cost to get to the airport.

Excellent location near Gatwick Airport with free shuttle service to catch our flight. Also excellent advice for a great place nearby pub. Good value. Pleasant stay.

Fortunately I only stayed for one night. You get what you pay for. Gentlemen who answered the door lacked people skills, a smile would not have gone amiss - felt like I was imposing? Room was not what I was expecting, possibly my fault for not understanding the listing - but there was only a sink in the room. You have to share 2 bathrooms with everyone else on the floor for showers and toilets which was not ideal at 'busy times'. Needs updating. Couldn't watch tv even as it needed updating apparently (so the comment on the tv said). On the positive, it was clean.

Overall experience was good, close to Gatwick and easy access. Parking was free. Only thing either I missed out or was missing from description, bathrooms; the rooms are not en-suite. But for me I did not have any trouble. Thank you

The service was hospitable, and very friendly. Info about arrival and departure was very good and prompt. Room nice and clean, only the TV channel and reception was poor!

The single room had a dangerous kettle - the flex had to be wiggled to make it work. The double room had springs coming through the mattress. Did not like the fact that I opened my door to see an old man just wrapped in a towel coming out of the bathroom - not something I want to experience again. Positive - The owner was friendly and helpful.

Perfect for me. Small but cozy. I like simple and traditional.
