La Breche

The stag were very friendly and the food was excellent. The raspberry soufflé was amazing.

We were greeted warmly by staff. Wonderful to have secure and free parking onsite. We were delighted to learn of their laundry service for 10 euro a bag. We dropped in the morning, visited the area and returned to find all washed and folded. We had a car so the location was great and much quieter than the other side of the river where most shops, cafes, etc were. The shower was small but good pressure. The room clean, comfortable and we rested well.

Fabulous place to stay and tremendous value... Beautiful accommodations and gorgeous garden... private parking... nice breakfast... I highly recommend this place!

The Hotel La Breche is a fairly elegant place with small rooms and a narrow staircase that makes it a little difficult to carry luggage upstairs. The staff was uniformly nice. Our room had a tiny balcony but others don’t. The bathroom was modern and they had especially nice towels. The bed was really comfortable. If you have to leave before or after hours, you are given a code in order to use the remotely operated parking gate. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed for lunch and dinner on both days of our visit so we cannot comment on it. Fortunately, Amboise has other nice restaurants and there is a small patisserie less than a block away that has pastries and sandwiches and opens at 7 a.m.

Close to the attractions, nice and comfy room. Breakfast is super.

2 day stay, no elevator in building and very steep narrow stairs with luggage with no help. Windows open but smokers below fill room with smoke! 15-20 min walk to center of town for restaurants etc. Great bakery end of street. Parking free and off street very nice. Expensive restaurant on sure.

The owner Mary was lovely. The breakfast croissants were to die for. If you like stinky cheese you'll be in heaven. The room was satisfactory for one night. If it had been warmer we would have loved to sit in the very nice courtyard.

We stayed for one night on our way north from Provence (and visiting the excellent Leonardo da Vinci chateau/museum the next morning). The hotel was excellent in every way - very helpful staff, comfortable room, secure parking and above all a really superb breakfast with a lot of choice, delicious fruit, breads, cheeses, meat, scrambled eggs, home cured smoked salmon and more. I'd come back here again very happily - thank you!

Lovely hotel, quiet and close to many centers of interest. The rooms are small but comfortable, and the breakfast plentiful.
