Chiang Mai Gate Hotel

Happy with the room but the european breakfast selection was limited. Easy walking to the old part of the city.

Our stay at this hotel was OK, although the crowing roosters behind the hotel were pretty active and noisy. It might be quieter if you can get a room on the front side of the hotel.

Nice and quiet - not in the main tourist area. . Staff friendly and helpful. A little run down in condition. There is a great little coffee shop and bakery in a house a few houses from the hotel towards the town centre - worth a visit.

Considering the price paid for, happy with this hotel in general.

Unfortunately we checked in here due to the high reviews, but had a different experience. Our room was fine, but had a weird odor. The bathroom, especially the bathtub was so disgusting, we didn't even want to stand in there barefoot. In addition, the restaurant tables were covered with ants each morning we went down for breakfast. It makes you lose your appetite quick. I would not recommend this hotel to friends. For the same amount, our cheaper, there are better places to stay.

Five night stay in the Chiang Mai gate with our young son. Room was good, plenty of space if slightly dated. Pool area small with limited seating. Breakfast atrocious - no cereal, and very cold food from the "heated" section. Good location, easy stroll into old town Chiang Mai.

A very nice stay , lovely warm at reception....a bit far to walk to tai pae gate but taxi very cheap....breakfast buffet nice...pool nice.....it is a lovely hotel at a great price.....nice place to stay for your holiday !

Hotel was nice !!! Great pool , really close to everything. They have a free shuttle to the night bazarre every night, breakfast was good and room was very comfortable. The food from the restaurant was OK ... Not as good as other parts of Chiang mai but still not bad. Would definatley stay here again !

Hotel driver not a professional. The hotel is old with some improvements, Bath-cloths not available in all rooms, Plumbing water lines, bad in showers and toilets in some rooms; Rain or stormy day, no cable and no internet; Internet slow to no connectivity; Hotel transportation available for a fee to and from airport; Air conditioners varies by room in temperature support; Hotel location to Chiang Mai gate good; Laundry service good service; Hotel restaurant good entertainment and service.

Basically no wifi in the room, you need to go downstairs to the lobby to connect. But anyways we were most likely outside for the majority of the day. The hotel also has a great location, very close to the Saturday market, old temples, etc. Overall, would stay again!
