The Fenwick Hotel

Superb standards of service. Most comfortable bed I have ever slept in.

A little noise from adjacent motorway.

My only complaint was we were charged £25 (should have been £30!) to get into the room early, even though the room was ready & available. I’d understand if the room was specifically cleaned early for us but that wasn’t the case & as the room was sitting ready for guests I felt that it was quite poor to charge.

Convenient to where we were going.

The reception area was being refurbished and the place was covered in dust, tolls were left lying around and the carpet was moved to cover a small step, which everyone was tripping over including a pregnant friend!! Hotel staff didn’t apologise when she reported it or provide cctv when asked to highlight that the hazard or hidden step was not appropriately identified. Workman in the evening were tidying up and spread the dust everywhere. They should have closed off the main entrance and used the restaurant or alternative entrance or made guests aware.

DINNER WAS EXCELLENT, WITH A LOT OF CHOICE. PERHAPS A BIGGER SELECTION OF FRUIT AT BREAKFAST.

Downstairs looked lovely and welcoming staff

Very small shower. No proper mirror at “dressing table” , mirror on wardrobe brown and plug sockets at the table not close enough for use the wardrobe mirror. Bed room roasting even after turning heating off and windows open.

Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Staff were all delightful and food was lovely. Ideal location for us to visit family locally. We will be returning.

Position, ease of parking, quality and availability of breakfast and dinner, and in particular the staff service.

Small shower, no desk and chair, and no fan or air conditioner.
