Hotel Keilir by Reykjavik Keflavik Airport

Die Lage ist für ein fluhafenhotel sehr gut. Wir bekamen ein Zimmer mit Meerblick ohne Aufpreis, das war nett. Das Personal wirkte bemüht.

Das Bad war nicht besonders sauber. Die Betten recht unbequem. Der hoteleigene Flughafenshuttle kam 10 Minuten zu spät.

We were stuck in Iceland because of Icelandair, and they sent us to Hotel Keflavík. Unfortunately, that hotel transferred us to Hotel Keilir, and the experience was terrible from the moment we arrived. The receptionist, an older woman, was extremely rude and disrespectful, and the man around 30 + years old who seemed to work with her had no manners at all and looking like her son . They clearly do not know how to treat guests properly. The room was dirty, the cleaning standards were very poor, there was no shampoo in the bathroom, and the street noise was unbearable. Breakfast was also very disappointing. One older man there could barely speak English and behaved very unprofessionally. Honestly, this hotel is not suitable for staying. There are definitely much better places in Iceland than Hotel Keilir. I still do not understand why Hotel Keflavík sent us there. Note: Please avoid this hotel if you want a comfortable and respectful stay.

Icelandair stuck us in this "hotel" after canceling our flight. Bed was comfortable, air conditioning worked and cable TV was fine, but barely adequate for a night layover. Think of a multi-story Motel 6 located in the middle of nowhere. No frills, no shampoo in bathroom; street noise was miserable. No help with baggage and no elevator. Not handicap accessible by U.S. standards. Check in was over whelmed and was out and out nasty to an elderly couple in clear distress. Breakfast was inedible. Icelandair should not be affiliated with this place to save a few Dollars for inconvenienced travelers as it reflects badly on the company.

The staff was extremely helpful in helping me to line up activites and taxi service.
