Avaton Resort and Spa

Great room, delicious breakfasts, good location and not overlooked by any other hotels unlike some we saw. Easy to walk into Fira (about 40 minutes to the centre) and plenty of good restaurants to choose from in Imerovigli. Bus stop about 5 minutes away. Hotel staff were all brilliant and nothing was too much trouble.

Service and friendliness of staff were excellent. They helped with arranging taxis and dinner reservations. This is a boutique hotel for relaxation, privacy, and wonderful service/accommodations

We went here on the second day of our honeymoon and just fell in love. During the reservation stage, I was already pleased with the service Avaton staff provided. I had found a better price on Expedia that did not show at the time I made my non-refundable reservation. Expedia was so unhelpful but Avaton helped me change the room type even though it was non-refundable. The hotel is located in a relatively private place in that it is located at the end of a strip of several different hotels. Avaton hotel offers spa, dinner inside a cave, and breakfast in suite. It also has a very clean shared infinity pool that looks off into the caldera. We got a few surprises because it was our honeymoon-a room upgrade, flower bouquet, and champagne. The moment we thought this hotel was the best was when we got back from our dinner. Our room was freshly cleaned while we were having dinner, and the bed was made with two pieces of wrapped chocolates on top. Very detail-oriented service, we thought. We would definitely recommend this hotel to couples especially.

Breathtaking view, great vibes, perfect service, it is definitely a place to stay in to enjoy the unique caché of Santorini.

The hotel is sensational and the service is second to none. The staff were amazing and attending to every need you could have from food to taxi bookings to scheduling of activities and restaurant reservations. The wifi was great but struggled a little outside the room although no issues inside the room itself. The view from your outside balcony area and pool was awesome that made you want to sit by the pool and gaze out all day. The only issue was that if you're after a bustling and busy area with lots of cafe, shopping and restaurant choices then Imerovigli is not your thing. No discredit to the hotel itself as it was faultless. Just that the location is very quiet so be prepared for this as its not like Oia. The mountain path walk to Fira is amazing for the views itself and whilst it takes 25-30min you don't even notice it because of the amazing sights along the way. Walking to Oia is just as awesome but takes about 2 hours to complete the journey one way. There are 39 taxis on the whole island so being stranded at Imerovigli for lack of transport can be common. The buses come every 20min or so and are surprisingly quite punctual but the bus stop is still about 5 blocks away. There are other means of transport like car hire and 4 wheel buggies and scooters but the former has issues with parking around the main towns and the latter from the sheer number of people who hire these transport modes but don't actually know how to ride them so beware.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Avaton. The location was perfect, the view was stunning, the staff was attentive, food, especially breakfast, surpassed our expectations.

There is little to add to what other travellers have mentioned. This is a great hotel for relaxing and pampering the senses. The staff are all that has been said before, friendly, and extremely helpful. The fruit basket, the flowers, the attention to detail is superb. We will definitely go back, maybe a little longer next time.

We had a wonderful time in Santorini and Avaton Resort and Spa was the perfect hotel. We arrived a little early and Alexandra welcomed us with a tour and champagne. We opted for a massage while we waited--wonderful facility. We opted for the superior room, which has a private balcony--the most breath-taking view. The room was immaculate and very clean. There was also a bottle of wine, fresh fruit and a beautiful bouquet of flowers waiting for us. The room was very spacious. We enjoyed a complimentary breakfast every morning on our balcony. I searched high and low until we settled on this hotel and I highly recommend it. Don't drive yourself crazy-- this was in a central location with plenty of parking and some of the best views on the island. Also, Laura helped us book a catamaran tour and directed us to some great restaurants. Perfect hotel, perfect service--BOOK IT!
