ibis Angouleme Nord

A great hotel for a stop-over. Room was clean and comfortable and the king-size bed meant a great night's sleep. Breakfast was included and could not be faulted with everything provided in quantity and quality. The only criticism I could level at our particular room was a connecting door to the next room which wasn't soundproofed and which allowed the loud voices of that room's tenants to be overheard. However, those tenants went to bed at the same time as we did so did not spoil our night's sleep!

Second time we stayed here... just very easy to access from our travel route. The bed was extremly comfy. the best one by far.

Stayed for 4 nights to take part in classic motoring events being held in Angouleme. Parking area was well surfaced and adjacent to the hotel buildings but protected from the road passing the hotel. There was enough space for all residents. Sufficient English spoken by the staff if you are struggling with your French. We were out each day after breakfast (continental with a very good choice and good coffee) but spacious lounge area to sit and chat each evening with a small bar available if needed. Evening meals were not available in the hotel but a restaurant was located very close by (La Boucherie). Rather limited menu but meals well presented, reasonably priced and good quality. Other restaurants nearby but transport really required to get to them.

Did a layover on our way to San Sebastian from Paris. Hotel was great for this purpose, at an awesome price. Having stayed at Ibis locations before, I did not expect a lot from this stop. But it turned out really well. There is also a restaurant close by where we had dinner (La Boucherie).
