The Sherborne Lodge

The room was clean but small and there was plenty of tea and coffee.

There was a public hair in the shower and as soon as we walked in you could smell stale smoke. Hostess was rude and we didn’t stay for breakfast as there was no flexibility with time and we wanted to have an early start walking . This has never been a problem wherever we have stayed before. Pictures do not show how run down the outside is so need updating.

Location was good.

Mattresses were not too comfortable.

We stayed here last minute and it was lovely. We met Lynne on arrival, she was very friendly and welcoming. You do breakfast options on arrival, the options are vast- and it did not disappoint, probably the best breakfast I've had in a hotel. Properly cooked scrambled eggs, and fantastic fruit salad. We stayed in a family room, it had a new bathroom, lovely fresh sheets and tea and coffee. Also there's plenty left outside the bedrooms in case you run out, there's no need to ask. 10 minute walk to the harbour, and shops and gardens even closer. Parking is tight but there are some, so that's a plus!

Walls are thin, but our neighbours were quiet after 10.30, so it wasn't too much of a problem.
