Our hosts were the best part of our stay. So hospitable, so helpful. Nothing too much trouble. The place was clean and tidy. Breakfast was excellent.

Wouldn’t have minded being closer to restaurants.

Sandy & Cathy Aitken are the most phenomenal people. Their kindness and hospitality made me feel as if I had unpacked my entire home—they are where the heart is. Admittedly, I felt a ‘wee bit’ sad having to say goodbye. Sandy & Cathy, many thanks for everything! The room, the breakfasts, the talks, the laughs—you’ve made my first to trip to Scotland absolutely wonderful. Fantastic place to stay for Scotland exploration. The cottage is cosy, very clean and with some history. Sandy and Cathy are lovely couple. Their Scottish breakfast is delicious. It was our first visit to Scotland and thanks to Sandy's advices we have seen great places that we would have missed. We will highly recommend Shawlee Cottage to everyone. And we will be back :)

Our hosts, Sandy and Kathy, bent over backwards to make us feel welcome and were very nice. The breakfast in the morning was filling and delicious. I liked that each room had its own en-suite.

The location is such that you need to have a car or take public transportation to get anywhere.
