The Southern Belle

Location was good, as we were there to support my son who was running in the marathon. The room was clean comfortable, everything we needed was there. The breakfast was lovely and service was great. Would definitely stay again.

Rooms were amazing, spacious and clean Location is great, by the sea and a short walk into town Breakfast was delicious

I did have to wait 20 mins to be checked in as they were so busy when I arrived, anyone I asked to check me in asked me to give them 2 minutes and then disappeared as they were so busy with food and serving behind the bar.

Just a great cool pub, nice feels, room was stylish and spacious- really good value for money- great breakfast, just better than I expected- was really great

The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The room we had was very comfortable and clean. We live in Brighton and wanted a special night away and this ticked all the boxes.

This was a masterclass in customer service from arrival to departure. There was such a relaxed and friendly vibe to the pub that seemed to emanate from the kindness and attention the staff gave. The Sunday lunch was superb and great value too. The included breakfast was also fantastic with proper coffee! The room was surprisingly quiet and we even had the window open all night although it was a Sunday so maybe different in the week. The located just of the main road helped here I think.

Lovely warm welcome. Room was exactly as expected, super bathroom, comfy bed, plenty of space in the room, and warm enough too. Breakfast was excellent!

Only minor issue was noise early in the morning, perhaps bins being emptied/collected? Luck of the draw really.

The initial experience I had with staff when arriving. I had a discussion regarding breakfast, we decided we did not want any breakfast, I ask if the breakfast can be deducted. I was told 'yes, but we could not change our minds in the morning. We agreed to cancel our breakfasts for the duration of our stay. When checking out, we were charged for breakfast. This made no sense to us £18x4, to be told we can cancel breakfast and still be charged for it. Our stay at the Southern Belle and Brighton was a wonderful stay, but this experience changed the mood of a fantastic weekend, and made us question if we would return to the Southern Belle.

Evie and the staff were all great and the breakfast choices and food were excellent. Can not say enough great things about the day crew.

There was a live band and music playing in the pub right below our room until 12:30. People yelling out side also a problem, should been advised of live bands prior to booking.
