Hotel Residence Torino Centro

Booked this hotel following a recommendation from 'The Man in Seat 61' website for train travellers. It is situated opposite the Porta Susa station so could not have been more convenient. Also it is easy to reach the centre of the city on foot, walking through arcaded avenues. If you want to visit the National automobile museum just walk over to the station and take the metro to Lingotto. Plenty of places to eat in the area. Our favourites were Andrea's pizza and the nearby gelataria. Friendly helpful staff.

Location is great, the office that I visit is 5 mins walk away as is Porta Susa station with it's bus link to the airport. Decor is old but everything is clean and works. The rooms vary in size from fine to massive, you sometimes get a triple when you have paid for a single. Breakfast is decent, standard Italian fare. Lots of restaurants, cafes and bars in the area, so you are spoilt for choice.

The hotel is nice, has a good atmosphere and ambiance, the staff was nice, the room was clean and other facilities were great as well.

This hotel is perfectly located for Torino Porta Susa station. By walking through the station you are on the edge of the shopping district. The building, unprepossessing from the outside nonetheless has a charming interior. Rooms on the front are inevitably noisy but a back room, especially overlooking the charming garden will be quiet. Service is good. Breakfast is adequate. Rooms are not too small with plenty of power points and a good reliable wi-fi.

Good Value hotel, clean and friendly. Air con slow to start but OK once running for a while. Directly opposite Porta Susa station and a mile walk to the piazzas Castello and SAN Carlo

Great location, perfectly perfect for a long weekend in Turin.

If you are hitting Turin and looking for a value for money, clean, large roomed hotel that is literally next to the train station (Porto Susa) then this would suit. Staff were helpful (particularly the gentleman on the desk during the week), has a restaurant in the building which does an 8 € breakfast which was fine (which does not appear to be part of the Hotel, but offers discount to guests and was very good for dinner). Has fridge, but no kettle which was unusual and disappointing. No laundry service was offered. Is about 15 minutes safe walk from historical areas of Turin or if walking is not your thing, the underground is at the hotels door and it is the easiest underground in the world to use having only one line and this can take you close to most attractions. I’d considering as a budget alternative, request a room at rear for less noise from road.
