Hôtel Maison Montgrand Marseille Vieux Port

At 2 o'clock we were to early to check in, so we left our luggage behind to visit the city. When we came back around 6 o'clock there was no body at the reception, but there was a sign that we had to wait 5 minutes. After 20 minutes of waiting we asked the person behind the bar to call somebody, because we wanted to go to our room. After another 15 minutes somebody finally showed up, when we pointed out we were waiting for more then 30 minutes he started yelling at us ( a simple sorry would have been enough for us). My partner (who was in pain due to health reasons) didn't let this go and called the guy behind the reception out for his behaviour. At that point the guy wanted to fight us and called my partner names. The guy behind the bar came down to cool him down. After a while we got to our room. There we were processing everything that went down, we saw the room (which wasn't great either) and in combination to what went down we decided to leave and search another hotel (Grand hotel Beauvau) which was amazing!!! To be honest, the next day our money was on our account (on a sunday!).

A phone in the room for wake up service would have been nice.

great location, poor standard

Although our room was small, it wss well- designed with space for two suitcases and other stuff. The location is perfect: a quiet street only acfew blocks from the bustling port, and close to trams and busses. Breakfast is scrumptious, well worth the extra charge, and can be enjoyed in peaceful garden area. Staff is very welcoming.

This property was in an excellent location, within walking distance of the old port and a wide variety of cafes and restaurants. Can also walk to all of the historic sites around the port. Highly recommend this hotel.

Just adorable. So classic French! We loved our room, the staff, breakfast and just sipping espresso in the lobby. Its so close to everything and walking distance to shops and Veaux Port. Would definitely stay again!
