Buggiano is a very small town, with only one restaurant, one bar/caffe and one church, but it is a beautiful area with stunning vistas. We were given the apartment, instead of a room, so we had a small kitchen with a fridge and hot plate. The table and chairs were a little rickety, but the bed was very comfortable and the views were amazing. Breakfast is served in the charming walled garden right across the street from the hotel and everything was good. The train is only a ten minute drive away and we used it to see Florence. We also enjoyed the Grotto Giuse for an afternoon of pool, sun and sauna. The owners are elegant and charming and have done a wonderful job of remodeling and caring for this ancient property.

If you would like to step back in time and see Tuscany at its finest, then this "Castle home" is the place to visit. The hostess is charming and her love of their home is evidenced in both the exquisite detail and preserved history at every turn. Breakfast is served in her "secret garden" and if you would like an authentic Italian dinner, she will make reservations for you at the local restaurant. Views are spectacular and it is a place to either sit back, relax and enjoy the scenery, or walk from village to village to immerse yourself in the history of the region. Wear sturdy shoes if you want to walk,,,...easier and definitely worth it. A short train ride from Pisa, Florence and Lucca make it a a good home base and a joy to come back to at night!

The nice little village of Colle di Buggiano is set idyllically on a little hill. There is the lively Piazza with bar, cafe and trattoria (with the best pizza ever!), but if you walk around the next corner, you'll be in peaceful quiteness. The Antica Casa fits perfectly in this surrounding. The 500 year old house is decorated and maintained with much passion, matching the antique frescos on the walls. Breakfast is served in the beautiful garden across the street by the owner itself, Fulvia. Listen carefully to her suggestions where and when to go visiting the area. Her advices were always perfectly helpful! We just loved our stay here!

Posto incantevole, se ami il silenzio e la natura e vuoi è da provare, la casa e gli arredi d'altri tempi, i proprietari garbati e accoglienti, la colazione in giardino ...una chicca... siamo stati bene ci ritorneremo e lo consigliamo.

Der Aufenthalt in der Antica Casa le Rondini ist unvergesslich. Ein wunderschön restauriertes Haus in einem romantischen mittelalterlichen Örtchen auf einem Hügel mit herrlichem Rundumblick. Wunderschön, liebevoll und geschmackvoll eingerichtete Zimmer, eine sehr angenehme Lobby, ein wunderschöner ummauerter Garten, wo das üppige Frühstück serviert wird.

Wunderbares, angenehme Zimmer, Haus und Garten und aufmerksame Gastgeber. Eine Empfehlung ohne Einschränkung.

Non ci sono parole per descrivere una casa meravigliosa che trasuda storia e tradizione di un borgo altrettanto meraviglioso. I proprietari sono persone squisite con cui conversare. Fantastico!!!
