Great get a way will do again!

I've tried many hotels in the area and this is probably the best (as of now 2014) in terms of location and quality. It's right beside the Huang He shopping mall and the hotel is clean, with nice bedding, free in room wifi and lots of tv channels to go through. My only complaint would be that this property is fairly new, but workers here can't seem to take care of the property well enough. I can see cracked tiles in the bathroom, breaking appliances etc even though the hotel is so new.

Book for 2 pax with free bfast but was given 1 pax with bfast. Had to pay extra $20+ for bfast. Their food is extremely expensive in this hotel. Room is very dim n dark. Not well maintained.

One of the best hotels in Dongguan, and quite reasonably priced. I stay here every time I have an overnight in DG. I'd highly recommend it over most other hotels in the area.

I have spend a week in china and stayed in 3 five star hotels by far this one was the best one. staff very courteous and helpfoul. Room was supperb, I had all I needed for this bussines trip, room nice size, perfectly layed out to have bussines meetings inside your own room !! only sugestion I have is to provide more internet ports because like in my case I traveled for bussines and have to work with more than 2 persons at the time using internet and we had to switch the wire between laptops every time we need conection (the good thing is that they provide free internet access).

For those of us that unfortunately do not speak Cantonese, selecting a leading hotel chain like Sofitel, should provide some piece of mind. However, the friendly staff's knowledge of English or French is very limited, thus creating a linguistic adventure for simple tasks such as getting ice cubes or room service. Great hotel with kind staff nonetheless!

If this hotel is convenient for the locations you need to visit in China then try. If not avoid. There is little of interest in the immediate vicinity. The wireless Internet only works in the reception areas or bars. The bar staff served out of date drinks. When questioned replaced, but later asked we pay for flat out of date drinks. Looks like this hotel does not have sufficient visitors to keep tags like hat moving.

In my recent stay in Sofitel Humen, I had a disturbing experience, where a male chambermaid refused to clean up my room. The reason he gave was: it is the hotel's policy not to clean up the same room a second time within the same day! Is this a reasonable policy for a five star hotel...or any hotel at all? I reported to the manager on duty, who was symphathtic with my encounter, and promised that this same male chambermaid will not be servicing my room any more. To my horror, this very same male chambermaid appeared in front of the door of my room the next morning, when I was still sleeping. After the door bell rang once or twice, I woke up and opened the door and saw him there, the card key he held was already at the sensor of my door. If I wasn't fast enough, he would have entered in my room...while I am still in bed! Did the duty manager follow through the request not to allow this male chambermaid to attend to my room? If so why was he still there? Was it deliberate? What was his intention? I have no answer to these but it was most disturbing. My stay was ruined, and so was the good impression I had with the hotel all these while. I was a loyal guest to this hotel until this incident takes place.
