"Superb service"

10.0

Well placed hotel for business or pleasure set in beautiful countryside, ideal for walkers. I Stayed in this hotel for three weeks on business and spent spare time exploring the area. Rooms were a good size. (two double beds in mine).Spotlessly clean. Great shower room, Good internet speed. Staff all spoke great English, which was good as my German leaves a lot to be desired. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Restaurant serves Spanish style food. Albondingas the best I have eaten. Good bar area All in all a great base. Will definately return in the future.

"Well worth a visit"

10.0

Set in Diefflen this Hotel is ideally positioned to explore the beautiful scenery of the surrounding area. The rooms have ensuite shower rooms and are spotlessly clean. They are furnished with antique furniture and have a small minibar/fridge. T.V. and telephone. Free Internet is also available, as is use of the Fitness room. Which comes in handy after sampling the Spanish based menus of Casa Pepe, the hotel restaurant. Staff are very polite and helpful with a good mastery of the English language Well worth a visit if you are in the area

"bizare place, business hotel I guess"

4.0

Each room is furnished with antique style beds, chairs etc and with a very nice shower room. Howerver, first room we were offered on ground floor had tiled floors and wasn't actually prepared so we moved up a floor and along a seriesof corridors. Room was essentially the same but now had carpets. We were at the back, so quiet, but also overlooking next block of rooms which were clearly part of a residential complex. Rooms don't have curtains but external metal shutters so if you want some privacy, you shut out the world. Dinner in hotel is served in Spanish restuarant. Food was extreamly dissapointing and place was grubby and not cleaned to a high standard (dirt on window frames, dead flys on floor etc). If we had see somewhere else, we would have gone there). Breakfast was nice and there was plenty of choice. From the other guests, it looked like it was generally a business hotel not for those on vacation (it is in an industrialised area). If I had a choice, I'd drive another 10 miles and find somwhere much nicer.

"An intriguing experience!!"

8.0

My wife and I spent one night at this hotel while travelling home from Italy. It was a most interesting experience. It appears to be a kind of revamped grand mansion, with each bedroom quite different from any of the others. The furniture seems to be genuinely antique examples of early german design (indeed, my breakfast chair collapsed under me, to the indifference of the hotel staff!) We were given a suite of rooms on the top floor, with a sitting room, a bedroom, a dining area, a study, a fully stocked kitchenette, and no less than 5 telephones in various locations! The welcome however was a little cool, and the evening dinner, while perfectly adequate, certainly did not live up to the setting. The breakfast was delicious, and there was a lovely bar and a couple of even lovelier hostesses serving. The beds were comfortable and the whole hotel was scrupulously clean. It is difficult to put a rating on this unusual place, but its very oddness would be worth a visit, and travellers would be very comfortable there. So we suppose an 'above average'!
