Courtyard Keene Downtown

Overall, this hotel was fine for our 4 night stay. Very convenient location, price was right, staff was excellent. However, our room was tired -- poor lighting, no exhaust fan in bathroom. The room needs some updating.

The coffee counter was not open for convience late morning. Counter clerk at check in had a bit of an attitude when i expressed my displeasure that the pool was out of service. She told me we can leave.. And after a bit of a pause let me know i wouldnt be refuvded tho of my $1,000 for 3 nights.

I booked a non handicapped room. I was very specific about it with the staff as well. I got there and the room was handicapped and connecting. I called the front desk and told her the issue. She said she was sorry abd that she had two rooms that were non handicapped king rooms but that theu were reserved for people coming that were not there yet. I said Inarrived first and had booked non handicqpped and so i reserved one of those rooms. She said she would tell the guest coming and would call me back when i could change rooms. She never called. I am very unhapoy. The bathroom shower and floor were also not clean and had brown spots. It was not good.

The stay was for a family wedding. I had reserved 2 rooms at $329.00ea!! I inquired on 4 different occasions for an early check in due to the wedding being at 4:00. Just one room would be great. Each time I was told that they could not guarantee an early check in but they can offer private bathrooms off the lobby to be used. I thought odd by Ok we can make that work. Upon arrival at 3:00 again I was told sorry no early check in rooms are available. Wait, you offer early check in rooms? Odd when I reserved the rooms months earlier I was told no. But moving on we have a wedding in an hour. I said we can make it work and we were shown the way to a door marked “WOMAN” As the clerk tapped the key card a woman came out. Her shirt was stained with blood. Her forehead and eye area all banged up ans bandaged. Oddly she stated that they couldn’t check in early so they went for a walk And she tripped and fell.) I looked at the clerk and asked is this a public bathroom ? Yes she replied it’s all we can do. Oh for the 4 us -3 females and one male hmmmm/ Whatever we really don’t have a choice we have a wedding to get to. While we did what we had to in a double sick bathroom mirror and a handicap stall as a dressing room there were voices in the hall out side the bathroom 4-6 other guests were also looking to use the “private bathrooms” They were told would be available for use if an early check in wasn’t available. I suggested they take over the Men’s room as we did the Woman’s

Have stayed here before several times. Always had a good stay. Staff is very nice. This stay was not so great. We booked a 2 room suite. When we arrived we were told we could not get the room because we had a pet. This is NOT stated anywhere on the site. We were given a smaller room and a single room. I booked this hotel for the simple reason of having 2 rooms. We were told they could not give us a rate reduction because we booked the room on. 3rd party site, being Hotels.com, so we were stuck. Our 4pm check in, became 4:35pm. We had to sit in the lobby for 35 minutes waiting for another room. Overall the hotel is nice and the staff is very friendly. The location is great in terms of being close to things. However, the area outside the hotel is a little suspect.

The was a lack of late night dining and some of the guests were sketchy. And there were some scary people loitering around the property.
