Hotel Sunroute Aomori

Stayed here for a night on 14 Feb 2015 to break the journey from Tokyo to Sapporo. Cost ¥8000 a night for 2. The hotel is about 5 mins walk from the Aomori station. Check in was a breeze. Surprised that the counter staff was well versed in English given its location (locals in sendai region can't converse in English so well). Was given a room on the ninth floor. A smoking twin room. Room was bigger than the usual Japan's standard. However, bathroom was as usual tiny. Wifi signal was weak. Electric kettle, hairdryer, TV with no English Channel, air purifier with humidifier, room slippers, yutaka, and the usual Japanese hotels amenities in bathroom were all available. Some 24 hrs convenient stores around the corner of the hotel and a fair bit of late night eateries. Overall, room was comfortable, clean and beds were firm with nice firm pillows too. Location was great as well. Affordable for price.

Comfortable and very clean, and easy walk (even in winter) from the railway station. The hotel is an ideal overnight stay while changing trains. Would stay here again.

Good connection to Haneda airport. Near train station. Many restaurants nearby.

Small room, small bathroom, but good service. Breakfast largely Japanese although there were Western items. Great view from the breakfast room located on a higher floor. Good for spending one night while on the go.

As with many medium to low range Japanese hotels, this is very basic. It'll get you a night's sleep. I felt the room was smoky even though it was a "no smoking room". For some reason the window was taped shut so there was no way to get fresh air in. If you're a strict non-smoker, best avoid. In fairness, the price was very low even with scarce availability.

Good location and good service. Free WiFi in the room is another credit.

Convenient downtown location just 5 minutes walk from JR station and harbour side attractions. Terrific value for money. Be aware it is about 5 kilometres from JR Shinkasen station.

Good business man's hotel for the price but for a single it won't be roomy, but it's enough to hang your hat!

Everything was good. Especially breaffast.

I stay at these cheap business hotels in Japan sometimes and this one is by far the coziest I have been in. I will pick it again in Feb.
