Tradition Julen Hotel

Lovely four star hotel in Zermatt with very nice accommodations and very good breakfast. Highly recommend for zermatt. Staff is just the best. Electric shuttle took us everywhere we needed to go. Our room on floor one had a patio with GREAT Matterhorn view, but it was difficult to open the doors because of the curtain arrangement - but the AC worked well so no problem (also i would not sleep with open doors unless it was an upper floor) . Eiderdown was heavy hot and stiff compared to other hotels on our trip, but bed was good. Oddly, no slippers provided with robes. (We travel light and appreciate slippers for the room and spa areas in hotels). This hotel features two very good Swiss restaurants and a tea every afternoon. Room decor is traditional swiss and very comfortable. Chairs on the balcony and wool robes provided to enjoy the view. Special note, for a reasonable fee, the housekeeping staff did our laundry - in one day! For this reason alone I would book again especially mid trip across Switzerland. Tip: ask for Matterhorn view rooms. We would love to try a higher floor next time. This would be a great warm patio on a ski day. Overall we loved this hotel.

The front desk staff was superb. They were especially great in making arrangements to and from Täsch which involved hotel shuttle connecting with taxi to connecting with private driver. They were great about providing information about Zermatt in general. Rooms and restaurant, especially breakfast, were also very good. Highly recommend.
