Paradise Resort Gold Coast

The water park was so much fun and convenient being at the hotel. Lots of activities for the kids too. My daughter had the best time. The location is also convenient as the tram is just a short walk away and attractions are not far at all.

The food was expensive and it was below average. Had to wait soooo long for it too. We ended up going to restaurants for dinners as it was cheaper or equivalent and that’s actually yummy. Honestly the food needs an overhaul which would make the place so much better and more appealing. The drinks were good though. Also our door handle on the inside kept falling off every time we opened the door. The shower was a bath shower which is fine but had to walk with caution as it bowed a lot. The fan basically didn’t do anything either. The room was clean but needs a makeover.

I really wanted to love our stay at Paradise Resort, especially as we booked it to celebrate my daughter’s birthday — but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. At nearly $700 for a room-only stay, the value just wasn’t there. Parking was a major issue — the on-site car park was full, so I had to leave my car in an unsecured council car park around the corner, which isn’t ideal with kids and luggage, let alone the security of my vehicle! The room setup was also disappointing. I had specifically requested separate beds for all four kids ahead of time, given it was a birthday stay. When we arrived, the room was set up with a double and bunks, which didn’t meet that request. you’ll see this in my booking! We had previously been told a rollaway wasn’t possible (again in this message thread) which meant the birthday girl’s dad couldn’t attend. However, after raising the issue on arrival, a rollaway was suddenly provided. That inconsistency was frustrating and avoidable with better communication - and we know i tried! Cleanliness in common areas was another concern. The downstairs toilets were extremely unclean — to the point we chose to walk back to level 3 to our room to use facilities instead. With the number of families staying, this really needs more attention. The toilet on the ground level near reception was proper disgusting! It also felt like there were fewer activities available compared to our previous stay, which was disappointing as that’s a key reason for choosing this resort. Food and beverage didn’t meet expectations either. A gluten-free cheeseburger arrived without cheese, l and a $22 pina colada was undrinkable — it tasted like a low-quality pre-mix, which didn’t reflect the price point. Overall, the experience did not meet expectations, we could have booked two rooms including breakfast at the Marriott for not much more!
