"Houses with a soul"

10.0

It is not very common to feel so good in a holiday house or hotel to really really feel like being at home. However, at home we do not have such a marvellous view on the ocean and a nice terrace to relax looking at it whenever you want, so... even better! The house itself was very confortable and equipped with all the necessary tools: it is very evident that everything was carefully thought to make guests at ease. Staff are extremely friendly and informative about all activities, restaurants and shops and they make you feel welcome since your arrival, providing also a much appreciated welcome pack. We heartily recommend Adegas do Pico to anyone visiting Pico (our favourite island so far!) since they will add the taste of home to your holyday.

"Utter perfection, no competition."

10.0

Utter perfection. From greeting, to baskets of local delicacies, to tour and destination tips and view, location and an immaculate, divine property!!! This experience tops every other and leaves the competition for dead. No one on any of the islands can compete with this. Brilliant private location where you hear and see the magic Atlantic and green green Island of Pico. If you’re coming for a day or a month, there’s everything you need to enjoy the wine, restaurants, swimming, walks and drives on Pico. Come!!!!!

"Amazing place!"

10.0

We spent 4 night here for our wedding anniversary. It was incredible. Our little house was wonderfully decorated and very comfortable and very, very clean. We made use of the BBQ area one night and that was a blast. Our view was incredible. The staff was amazingly helpful and responsive both before our stay and during. We hope to make it back to Pico again (great island) and if we do we will be staying here again!

"Beautiful stone cottages"

10.0

Our 4 night stay on Pico Island was amazing! The cottage was exceptionally clean and comfortably furnished. The women in the reception were very helpful in giving us ideas on what to see. Two restaurants were within walking distance.

"Fantastic cottage"

10.0

Our cottage (Faiol) was 8 meters from the ocean. 8 meters. Characteristic small house with 2 bedrooms (and two bathrooms + a third toilet). Well renovated, well furnished: everything is there (apart maybe from Wifi. But 4G works well, and who needs Netflix or Internet when you can watch the ocean all day, the waves hitting). A place to unwind, to write and read. Communication with reception couldn't be better, welcoming is very professional and careful.

Quiet and private on the hill above the town, a short walk away. The house itself was very nice with many interesting features and details, and well equipped. We would have liked to have stayed longer.

"Beautiful"

10.0

This review is late in being posted but wanted to say what an amazing place this was to start out Azorean holiday. We wished we would have allowed more time here in Pico. The house was so peaceful and beautifully maintained. We started off with 3 days in Pico, 5 in Sao Miguel and 4 in Madeira. The ladies who run the office are so kind and helpful. We had a flight delay and they stayed way beyond what would have been expected to meet us-close to 7:30pm-to make sure we arrived safely and were given an escort to our little house. Included was a map with hand detailed instructions on what to see on the island. The home was lovely, clean and so relaxing. Sylvia and her fellow employees were awesome. We wish we would have had more time!

"Wonderfully charming accommodations!"

10.0

Our family enjoyed three nights in Alto da Ribeira (5 of us) and Bananeiras (2 of our group, but sleeps 4). The property is rural, so don’t expect restaurants and shops nearby. We did not have a car and the walk into Prainha to the market was fine for the younger of our group, but not for my 79 year old mother... however, she was perfectly happy to sit with a glass of wine on the patio with her friends and enjoy the beautiful views and lovely gardens. The houses are so very cute and really give you a feel for traditional living. My mother lived in the Azores in the late 1960’s and loved the accommodations as it brought back a lot of memories. I only regret not having more time at this very peaceful and beautiful property. Next time though I will rent a car as I think it would be easier to go to the market and explore the island. Prainha is definitely not in a largely populated area... but taxis are happy to drive out there and are very reasonable. We also used a local tour company who was able to pick us up and drop us off though so it it was all good... My mother had a small mishap and tripped... and we ended up needing to call an ambulance and be taken to Sao Rogue for a few stitches. It was totally a freak accident, but I appreciated that Sylvia has taken the time to have emergency numbers in their welcome folder as well as posted in the kitchen! It made a stressful situation much easier to navigate. Sylvia even showed up just as the ambulance did because word had gotten to her that we had called for an ambulance... and she was so concerned and helpful. And by the way, the paramedics and hospital staff were wonderful as well! Thank you for a wonderful stay - we are already planning to return to Pico and hope that Adegas do Pico will be available!

"Wow"

10.0

The Adegas do Pico were nothng short of fabulous during our stay there. The houses (adegas) themselves are spectacularly restored old stone houses typical of the island of Pico. The renovations inside have kept the traditional look of Pico architecture and decor -- even first-timers to the Azores like us could tell that this was not just Azorean traditions, but local just to Pico. It's also got the right amount of modern convenience to make the stay luxurious. Everyone at the Adegas could not have been more helpful even before we arrived, helping us secure a rental car and giving us all sorts of good advice on what to see - things, like the various lagoas, that we might have missed otherwise. Everyone at Adegas do Pico was kind, friendly and helpful! Can't recommend them enough, Prainha is a pretty rural town -- just a gem.
