The room was down the road from the address that shows up on booking but it’s not a problem since you’ll most probably be moving around in a car. Beautiful stone built houses and responsive and polite staff. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and the complimentary bread and marmalade etc

"A lovely, unique experience"

8.0

Love the quaint stone cottages overlooking the water. Wonderful front deck to sit out on surrounded by beautiful flowers and ocean views. The staff was very responsive and helpful. They left us a big canister of delicious ground coffee, a loaf of local bread and a jar of absolutely delicious passion, fruit jam. Good air conditioning/heating units.

It was incredibly musty when we arrived (mid November). Be warned if you have allergies or asthma. I don’t, but found it hard to breathe it first. You couldvturn on the heat or air conditioner to improve the situation, but it always felt musty There appeared to be some sort of black mold on the windows in one room. It was very windy our first night and the doors and windows rattled constantly. We had the three room villa, but one of the bedrooms could only be accessed from the outside. It was fine, but probably not ideal if you have small kids. There were very few restaurant options that were actually open in November. We ended up eating peanut butter and jelly one evening to for dinner. One local restaurant was open, but was out of most items on the menu, and the other one was just closed, despite staying open on the website. So prepare to either drive a bit or cook at home if you come in the off-season.

The house is very beautiful and was neatly prepared with tasty bread etc. for breakfast. There is a fire station and table to eat outside, which was cosy.

The house ended up being more on the hill/mountain that expected as google maps reverted us to the remaining houses in the center. There is only one bathroom, which was sometimes challenging with 4 people ;). In the kitchen a few more items such as bigger, sharper knives, better grilling pans and extra trash bags would have been great (we like to cook).

The location facing the sea is wonderful and the house is perfect for a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 teens) with all amenities (equipped kitchen, washing machine). There is a natural pool and supermarket just a walk away. Jennifer and Beatriz are welcoming and helpful. They picked us up at the airport to the house where our car was waiting and dropped us off at the ferry for our trip to Horta. Would have loved staying a little longer.

The car rental was a full electric which even if it was okay was kind of stressful since there are only three locations on the island to recharge: Lajes, Sao Roque & Madalena (a little isolated). Hopefully there will be a little more on the island in the coming years. Charging at our specific house was not possible but apparently it seems possible in certain homes.

"Tranquil setting"

8.0

We stayed at Flor do Ribeira for 5 nights. The cottage was relatively small but was clean, comfortable, quaint and charming and came with all the basics we needed - including a welcome breakfast basket of local bread, jam, coffee and tea. Staff were readily available by phone or WhatsApp to deal with any requests. If you’re looking for a tranquil base for your time on Pico, this is perfect - we loved sitting out on the deck admiring the views across the sea to Sao Jorge. Recommend that visitors stop off at the Hipercais supermarket just outside Sao Roque en route to stock up on supplies. There is a small store 5 minutes drive from the Adega to pick up basics. There is a pizzeria and bakery within walking distance but for good food, we recommend Tasca and Adega Acoriana in the village.

"Cute house by the ocean"

8.0

If you want to experience a traditional set up and go to sleep to the sound of the ocean this place is for you! We really enjoyed our stay there. The house is quite small but cute. The view from the little terrasse is awesome!

It is a bit remote from the main towns and it’s not very modern but it has its charm. The property has 2 single beds (which we didn’t notice when we booked) so my partner and I slept in separate beds during our stay.
