Kirra Palms Holiday Apartments

If you were visiting Kirra for a 1960s family holiday with kids, the "upgraded" family apartment is quite roomy and in a good location near the beach.

The Wi Fi was non-existent - which seriously impacted the work trip (had to pay to go to a nearby Business Hub just to get a signal and couldn't work in the evening). They also have no idea about cyber security - insisting that copies of important IDs (passport and driver's licence) be emailed to them(?!), as they have no staff on duty weekends or public holidays. Was only informed of this AFTER I had paid - so couldn't cancel the booking.

It was clean

The place needs a total renovating It's very tired and stuffy and long overdue but it was clean ?

Location was excellent for what we wanted

The location is awesome. Got told that we could check in early which was nice, and the initial staff we were in communication with were kind and informative. Check in process after hours is easy and lots of information was provided.

Arriving at the apartment I don't think we were alerted that we were top floor and the amount of stairs. Apartment is more dated than it looks online. Paint peeling, blinds old and difficult to adjust, just really rundown. Location is excellent but the sole airconditioning unit in the apartment burrs every 12 seconds loudly like a coffee machine starting, even when the unit was off. It only stopped doing this on the day we left after 2 nights there. Very disappointing experience alerting staff to it. Called to register the concerning noise, was offered no solutions, and was hung up on mid sentence after being told nothing could be done over the weekend. I see comments on booking.com saying that if there are issues, guests could be moved etc. but we weren't given a single solution. Maybe heads up that if you register a complaint while staying, solutions will only be provided in retrospect.
