Citadines Karasuma-Gojo Kyoto

I paid such a low price, yet the room was so spacious compared to other hotel rooms I’ve booked in Japan on a similar budget. The room was clean and quiet, the elevator ran quickly and smoothly, and the staff were polite and helpful. Overall a good experience, and I would stay there again.

Property is in a great location to temples and shirnes as well as the Imperial Gardens. Various restaurants and stores. Loved sitting on the balcony. Key note-take the subway (I believe it is stop #10) from train station. We did not know that and walking with luggage was hot, heavy and annoying.

Originally I was disappointed in the distance from the train station. Upon arrival at hotel, discovered another train entrance/exit literally a minute from the hotel. The Gojo station is not well manned so was not able to ask directions to hotel.we travel minamalistacly so we don’t have gps etc. this hotel is absolutely gorgeous from the outside and inside. Very spacious and well equipped even with a kitchen. Wished we stayed longer. The only cons is that Gojo station is a non jr station so we could not use our rail pass. Also the hotel hits you up with a city tax, would have been better if they included this tax in the initial booking. I also thought my booking came with free breakfast but was told not. Also received e mail from hotels.com asking If I received credit for parking. I did not drive, but would have been nice if they used the credit for city tax or breakfast. Overall nice hotel for the money.

Room facilities were good. Late check-out was excellent. Front desk staff were very helpful.

From check in to check out, everything was amazing. Friendly staff, apartment-style rooms, daily housekeeping. Front desk staff are able to speak in English. One staff member was kind enough to try and find city tours for us to book. Clean, comfortable rooms. Close to train station. Definitely would stay here again!

The bed was really hard and pillow sucks its hurts our back for 3 nights.

We LOVED this hotel. We stayed for 10 nights. Wonderful to have a kitchen and a laundry room. Felt like being in a neighborhood and the subway stop was just feet away. Superior staff who spoke English and guided us many times. Highly recommend!

Nice hotel located in a quieter part of the city.

Excellent customer service. Very friendly and helpful. 30 mins walk to Gion or can take a train. No Car park instructions. U need to drive your car into the turn table in the car park space. Assistance needed from customer service.
