"A stylish, roomy, and comfortable room."

The room was beautiful. It was roomy and stylish. There was an elegant restaurant in the complex. I had a problem with the lock to the room, but a staff member sorted it out very quickly. We were very pleased that we stayed here.

It was supposed to be a nice business trip stay at a 5-star hotel with two of my colleagues. It was £179 for a one-night stay in the middle of the week. Upon arrival, we were told we couldn’t stay in the room unless we slept in the same bed. (The suite had two rooms, one with bunk beds.) The manager showed up almost an hour later, just as we were in the car park about to leave to look for another hotel. (There are two Premier Inns nearby for much less.) We agreed to pay an extra £100 so we could stay in a bigger room. We agreed just to get it over with and focus on our meeting topics, not the absurd situation we were put in. But all in all we were unsatisfied with the experience and this felt like a rip off and not a settlement\ for our inconvenience. Breakfast coffee tasted like puddle water, which was odd because we had decent coffee in the afternoon. When I asked if they could serve any vegetables with breakfast, I was told, “We don’t do vegetables in the morning.” Now the best part — three weeks later, after I left a not-so-great review, I received a call from the manager, who is also the owner. He did not care about what I had to say. He only complained about how unfair it was that I left a 2-star review and asked how I would feel if someone did that to my business. Very professional, Mr. McG. Not a single apology for the situation we experienced. He kept interrupting me whenever I tried to respond to his rant. And the cherry on top: a few hours later, he left a 1-star review on my employer’s business profile, calling me entitled and abusive. What are you expecting to achieve? P.S. Mr. Hotel Manager, please look up what a 5-star hotel actually means and provides before misleading people. So here I am, edited my review from 2 starts to 1star. For hotel to leave a 1 star review on their customers business is something I have never hear before. Pathetic.
