When we arrived we find out that the motel was fully booked. I said that we had a confirmed booking and was told that they couldn't help as this is what happens when you use a 3rd party site to make the booking

"Not a 3 star hotel"

Sorry this is NOT a 3 star hotel.....2 star at most. It was tired, run down and in desperate need of updates. The mattress on the bed was extremely hard and the towels thin and scratchy. On the positive front the man at check in was very friendly and helpful.

Excellent room, comfortable, CLEAN, and the grounds were immaculate. The hotel manager Justin was very hospitable, and gave us a recommendation for the perfect place for the freshest fish and chips. The Otago Peninsula is worth taking some time to discover. From there, Dunedin at night is a spectacular sight!

The Manager washed our very dirty car for us. Also saw him washing other cars. Very friendly manager and staff.
